There has been a political commercial on local TV with Eric Greitens, Navy Seal, running for Missouri State Governor,holding an m4 letting it rip shooting ? Tannerite ? explosion.
I have to say I believe that he supports the Right of the 2nd Amendment.
Has anybody else seen the same commercial?

And that's what he "wants you to think". I haven't seen the commercial but did get a mailed advertisement yesterday. I'm not ready to buy in(with his $10 ISIS Hunting Permit) on his claims. While he may(?) be a stand up 2A guy, he spent enough time doing "humanitarian" gigs to be somewhat suspect in my book.
He plans to "shrink government, to eliminate waste and fraud, and to act as a budget hawk who looks after your every dollar".
I'd like to see what he says about taking a critical look at the bunny cops and hwy dept and making the metro areas pay for THEIR expensive road systems.
A new ad today says he's a closet liberal.
Well Mobuck, I hope that people, friends do not think that just because I do something good for the community or church that it does not make me or my family or friends communists or socialists.
Not that you are chastising me, but I would not think that helping a community through a rough time makes you a liberal person.
A candidate who "sides with Claire McCaskill" on ANYTHING is suspect in my book. In addition a candidate who is "pro happy-rights and pro immigration reform" sounds far too much like the current screw up in charge.
He advertises with pics suited up in his go to war clothes but makes the rounds of liberal Dem notables and then runs as a conservative Republican?? I don't wear flip-flops and not sure I want to vote for one as Governor.
As for him supporting happy, people, liberal ideals, that is not what the State of Missouri has now or needs in the future.
Looks like he is just another troll, one party or another, flip flopping, putting out another smokescreen.
Now what, I have to wonder if he has a chance at getting elected.

The 'clear' 2nd Amendment does not say anything about 'law abiding'. His statement suggests he does support government restrictions, and one should question him as to where those restrictions are limited. His life membership with the NRA suggests he supports the NRA policy of legislated access which is obviously at adds with the 'clear' second amendment as well.
Playing with an M4 does not a 2nd Amendment supporter make.
Prior to thinking he understands and supports the individual right guaranteed by the 2nd, a little more fleshing out of his position is in order.

Nothing happens quickly in the State of Missouri on a Legislative standpoint. Cutting 180 state jobs is a start in the right direction, as long as they aren't in highway maintenance. The State Highways seem to be getting less repair work.
The State has been put on the list at No.5 as one of the fastest growing populations in the country.
Is the man with no experience the person to lead?
Will he have the stomach to put down the anarchist the next time they decide to burn down a community? The last Gov. froze. Only time will tell, it wont be long.
MoDOT's inefficiency is one of my pet peeves. I worked for the State Hwy Dept at a time when it really was WORK and have discussed the sloth and apparent lack of capability of the present set of workers with other "old-timers". It's not just lack of funding but plain old laziness. The way we worked in 1970 would put 1/2 of present day workers in intensive care--there were darned few overweight Hwy Dept employees back then.
It now takes approximately 7 workers, 3 trucks, and a supervisor's pickup (possibly pulling a trailer with a porta-potty) to toss a few shovels of oil/gravel mix in potholes. In 1970, this was one truck and depending on the road, either 2 or 3 MEN. Once women were employed, the "go pee behind a tree" disappeared. I've seen instances where a crew with a woman would drive 15 miles to a public restroom 3-4 times a day, cutting their productive work by up to 3 hours.

I have been told that "it is the new day" of doing things.
Women in the jobs that involve heavy manual labor, not being able to do the job and being a burden on the men that have to then carry them.
Fat overweight lazy employees, who have been injured and now are on restricted duty causing further stress to the few that take pride in their work.
Draconian laws that protect such people from being laid off. Attorneys that will try any form of tort to get their name in a case law book and twist the true intent of the Statute.
I still work at my own pleasure. But everyday it is getting harder to continue. Young folks believe that everything will be given to them for little effort.
I have labored hard for what I have earned, and I am grateful for the way my father raised me to be a man to provide for my family. I am an ultra conservative, work for what is mine, and be a God fearing and charitable person to those that help themselves.
We are cut from similar cloth with similar work ethics. I worked for everything I have and continue to work in an effort to improve what I have.
Driving the "lettered pavements"(the lowest priority state maintained roads) is a dangerous endeavor due to poor maintenance and neglect. Most of my work driving is on such roads so I get a good look at their condition quite often. Even worse is the fact that school buses travel these roads daily (X2) doubling the chance for accidents with children on board.
MoDOT is holding our state's roads for ransom in the effort to increase gas taxes. I say too much is spent in the metro areas already and those "special needs" areas should be paying an "infrastructure fuel tax" to support their transportation demands.
We can hope that our newly minted Governor takes an interest in these problems and puts several state agencies on the hotseat.
If the Governor wants to do something maybe he can join Missouri Senators and keep the lead smelter open in Herculaneum. After all it is a National Defense issue. After closing and tearing down the plant I suppose that we will get our lead for ammunition from overseas.
I have written my Senators about Herculaneum and since the EPA will have to ease up on regulations now that their is a new administration in the Executive Branch, maybe the only lead smelter in the country can remain open to keep the supply of lead from stopping entirely.
Once it stops then what if we get into a hot war.
Yup looks like Missouri is trying to catch Illinoi on prosecuting governors.
Here I actually thought that we will have a creative person in office and now we have another dippoope funnyman who cant even cover his own *. Even his poor wife was a pretty good actress.
I would also guess that all the money he saved the State will now be spent on his defense in court.
The man of integrity just could not beat the whack a mole system.
That is probably good for his resume. Now he can go to California and become a lobbyist.
