Number of Venezuelan Seeking U.S. asylum soars as economic crisis deepens

The number of applicants has accelerated sharply since December 2015, when the opposition scored a landslide victory in congressional elections, giving hope to many that it could disrupt 17 years of socialist rule.?

Note: Venezuelan Elections DID NOT solve the problem, people of the country voted for a new congress and it HAS NOT made any difference. Current president was "installed" by Chavez supporters after he died. Chavez changed the constitution and it is almost impossible regain control, anytime soon.

edit: added video: http://video.foxnews.com/v/5096929100001/massive-jump-in-venezuelans-seeking-us-asylum/?#sp=show-clips

This is what you can expect in the United States if the Democrats win the Presidency.

1. Justices NOMINATED by the President.
2. More regulation that produces loss of jobs and shortages of basic materials
3. The finish of the coal industry.
4. The decline and stagnation of the oil industry.
5. The finalization of government control over the Health Care Industry.
6. Approval of more DEVISTATING trade agreements.

These ideas will make it extremely difficult for the citizens of the U.S. to have any control over the government, health care, energy use and job creation. Add in control of the courts, it's all over but the shouting.

Venezuelans voted for "something promised" that sounded like they'd get something for nothing and can't get rid of it.

OH,, can't happen here ? Happened in Sweden and happened FAST, not because of constitutional changes but because Sweden was 99% liberal and the political system "destroyed" THE WAY SWEDEN WAS and it will never return. Destroyed and now it appears it's the fault of the Swedish citizens for NOT "bending over" to make the Refugees feel more at home.

Wonder how many have come to the U.S. in the last 5 years on legal tourist visas. Most have no intention of returning.

Bright side, they're not terrorists, have enough money to buy a plane ticket and stay out of sight.

How do illegal immigrants enroll their kids in school?

Could it be the schools are paid with PUBLIC taxes and controlled by the Democrats or a form of Republican taxation without representation.

BTW: Venezuela is now officially a dictatorship but a Democratic Dictatorship. More unfortunate victims are on the way, everyday.

WAIT,, won't know till tomorrow, Venezuela lacks a few percentages points to fulfill the peoples dream of being a total Democratic communist Dictatorship.

Voting tomorrow, the police and military are helping to keep the election safe and fair. They have consulted with H. Cliton on how to *'r'done.

Venezuela GRAND communist Plan is turning brown, runny and odorus. Not for everyone only the working folks,, communist leaders are doing very well indeed while the country slides further into chaos.

Communism: Venezuela?s Minimum Wage Crashes to Under Four Dollars a Month

The monthly minimum wage in the communist country of Venezuela has crashed to under four dollars a month as hyperinflation continues to crush the country?s shattered economy.
Despite dictator Nicol?s Maduro?s five minimum wage hikes over the course of 2017, the monthly minimum wage of 177,507 bolivares is equivalent to $3.41, working out at just over two cents an hour, according to latest real value exchange rates.

Anyone who wants the U.S. to become a communist Nation has to be crazy or demented. There is the possibility they have been brainwashed somehow? Did it happen in the halls of higher education?

5 wage hikes and yet the currency drops faster than the country can increase the wages. SOUND FAMILIAR , as in the $15 an hour minimum wage in the U.S.

Folks are kidding themselves into believing the government will make wages for "doing very little" pay handsomely.

PS: the "auto corrector" changes Social.ism to communism. Personally believe Social.ism is "on the way" to communism, just not there yet.

Remember when Trump was campaigning and talked about helping Venezuela? Shortly after taking office he said Venezuela needed to get their act together and distanced himself from the 'help' talk?

Maybe he was advised about this little problem:
Nearly 100,000 Cuban Regime Agents Have Run Venezuela Since 2010

Thousands of Cubans hold key positions in various Venezuelan government sectors, particularly in the national security and intelligence services used to monitor politicians, opposition members, business executives, and the population as a whole to keep the communist regime in power, noted retired Maj. Gen. Antonio Rivero. Rivero has been an outspoken critic of the so-called Bolivarian revolution.

Flew thru Panama last week and talked with several Venezuelans. Sound like they might not be going back.

Verified what had been posted above about Cubans running Venezuela. They said they were sure it was 60,000,, the article says 100,000 but acted amazed !!! Said it's unbelievable and they said it's true.

More over A cuban had been appointed to head the military. He had been given a little more than advisory status,, he WAS in charge and if someone didn't like what he ordered,, they didn't quit,, they were gone.

Riots the previous week had resulted in 20 dead and 1,500 injured. One of the deaths was by tear gas,, not the gas, he was "shot" at close range in the chest. Couldn't find the exact report and don't believe everything read by a "human rights" group,, but this sounds pretty close.

Oh -No looks like the President of Venezuela is getting worried the Military might stage a coup.

Venezuela: Maduro Purging Military as Fears of Coup Grow

Venezuelan dictator Nicol?s Maduro is purging high-ranking members of his military as fears within his government grow that they may lose the institution vital to his power.

Guess if your Military thinks you should go, you should leave,, when in South America.

With 100,000 cubans who are actually running the country, (military) this may not be a "standard" coup, it might be a CUBAN COUP. The cubans need oil and now it's within their grasp. Cuban or Venezuelan it would NOT make much difference, looks like Madura will be gone before the summer is over.

Venezuela in experiencing massive PLANNED power outages.

Caution: When the S.o.c.i.a.lists come out with a plan,, it's NOW your fault when things turn brown and runny for not helping implement the plan.

The situation has been made worse by dwindling rains??? Dwindling RAINS, WTH does rains have to do with producing electricity?

    Ah Ha, this:
Partly this is a story about drought. More than 60 percent of Venezuela's electricity comes from hydropower, and a lack of rainfall this winter due to El Ni?o has led to low water levels at its all-important Guri Dam.

    BUT:
But the bigger story here is that Venezuela's so.cia.list government has badly mismanaged the electric grid for years. Since 2000, the country has failed to add enough electric capacity to satisfy soaring demand, making it incredibly vulnerable to disruptions at its existing dams. Venezuela has been enduring periodic blackouts and rationing ever since 2009 ? and there's no sign things will improve anytime soon.

Food and power shortage? Then there is no need for power to cook things you don't have,,, so what's the problem? No geeks in Venezuela?
    chicken02.gif

Ha, bet there will be more geeks very soon. Might get so bad the cows will need to be treated for human bite marks.

This won't fix the problem but the current Venezuelan president (Maduro) is about to run short on dollars. Color Madura GONE.

A U.S. federal judge authorized the seizure of Citgo Petroleum Corp. to satisfy a Venezuelan government debt, a ruling that could set off a scramble among Venezuela?s many unpaid creditors to wrest control of its only obviously seizable U.S. asset.

Venezuela has a guaranteed formula for FIXING all of it's problems,, surprise, surprise it does not include anything to replace their SOCIAL_IST society started by Chavez and continued by Maduro.

The answer is NOT TO FIX the problem but to TRY and fix one the symptoms of the problem. Sounds crazy to me.

Venezuela?s social_ist president Nicol?s Maduro announced a bizarre set of new economic regulations to try to reverse the economic destruction he has inflicted for years. In his Friday night speech, he said: ?I want the country to recover and I have the formula. Trust me.?

The first part of his ?trust me? formula was to devalue the bolivar currency by 96 percent, then introduce a new currency, the Bolivar Soberano (?sovereign bolivar?) which is pegged to a pseudo-bitcoin-like crypto-currency called the ?petro,? which is pegged to the price of oil, where oil is produced by Venezuela?s collapsing oil industry.

    https://tinyurl.com/venezula-fix-problem

Guess he's been listening to Wonder girl communist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the new face of the left, apparently thinks that capitalism has just been invented. Here is what she said in an interview: ?Capitalism has not always existed in the world and will not always exist in the world.?

I like it, steal money from everybody by issuing IOU's, then cancel the IOU's. Sounds like sound economic recovery.

That is how we can get rid of the deficit and end poverty, hand everybody $1,000,000. It has worked in every country to do so. [xx(]

The latest idea should be simpler, however it requires an App (for your non_existant cell phone).

Personally believe anything that requires an app to explain probably won't work worth a darn, but hope springs eternal.

As noted by Bloomberg, the app converts the Venezuelan bol?var into dictator Nicol?s Maduro?s new invention, the ?sovereign bol?var,? which appears to have the same value as the original currency but with fewer zeroes at the end.
Understand that? it gets worse. The wizard of OZ couldn't have done better.

Seems the latest Madura "FIX" isn't working as intended. WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED.

Maduro did however cause mass confusion after his issuance of the ?sovereign bol?var" last week. Guess the app for your "electronic device" wasn't helpful or only Maduro and his cronies had the device?

THERE IS A NEW IDEA, something for people to "take to the bank". Actually this might work and seems a good idea under the circumstances. Remember when people weren't allowed to have gold coins in the U.S. and now we can?

Venezuela?s communist dictator Nicol?s Maduro proposed providing people with gold bars as an alternative to traditional currency.

This "gold bar" idea is something that may mix fix the mess. Can't wait to hear about the results.

The sentence at the end of the article saying "Many workers have also become alienated over Maduro?s installation of former military general Manuel Quevedo as head of the company, who pledged to ?consolidate the deepening of social_ism? within the company. So, if at first you don't succeed keep trying the same thing over and over again.

To learn more about the gold, where it comes from and how it will be distributed,, go to this link:

Taking zeros off the currency has been done in many countries. Taking three zeros off the Mexican Peso late last century seems to have worked fairly well. I was in France around 1960 when they were using both the old Franc & a new Franc worth 100 old Francs.
I would like for us to have a new Dollar worth 10 old Dollars so coins would be useful again & checks would be easier to write.

Maduro goes begging to CHINA for money to keep his Social_ist Regime afloat. Honestly, no better place than another communist country to get some help.

Maduro visited China from Thursday to Sunday, seeking funds to keep his regime afloat. Thanks to nearly two decades of communist mismanagement of the economy and violent repression of opposition voices, Venezuela is currently undergoing the worst humanitarian crisis in its history.

Wow, 4 days !!! Must be a great place to visit or maybe Maybe Maduro spent a lot of time on his knees,, begging I'd assume, but China is mow taking a more positive view of Venezuela.

Xi better be quick with the money,, inflation rate estimated at 1,000,000 percent in 2019,,, WoW, Venezuela might surpass Zimbabwe and take the crown for the most inflation. ? What is the most inflation ever recorded?

Venezuelan President Maduro - "strong man and dictator" [:D]

Says: Trump has put out a hit on me,, or something to that effect. In the past, Maduro has accused others, who will remain unnamed, of the same thing.

My advice; Trump isn't one to thoughtlessly "hurl threats" against people (unlike previous U.S. presidents.) and should Madura be correct, it's time for him to step down or at least stay hidden.

In a televised broadcast alongside members of his United communist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Maduro claimed that the Trump administration has asked Colombian President Ivan Duque to help organize his assassination.

    What's to organize? Let's get 'r done.

Just got a twitter note from Trish Regan:
Trish Regan Primetime has learned EXCLUSIVELY that Venezuela and its current regime are on the brink of COLLAPSE! We?re talking DAYS! The American man that Venezuela owes the most money to says Communism is to blame. You hear that,

Today is 12/15/2018 so days would be before 1/01/2019. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Russia sent two bombers halfway around the world to Venezuela for what purpose? Transporting medical supplies?

Two Russian bombers landed in Venezuela on Monday provoking a strong rebuke from U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who tweeted, ?Russia?s government has sent bombers halfway around the world to Venezuela. The Russian and Venezuelan people should see this for what it is: two corrupt governments squandering public funds and squelching liberty and freedom while their people suffer.?

Puting replied: What choice do I have, squander the money or give it to the Cliton Foundation. [:D]

Guyana (remember Jonestown) was a peaceful place until the President of Venezuela found out Exxon was exploring parts of Guyana territory for oil,, and yes there is LOTS of oil and Venezuela wants it.

This has prompted the Venezuelan President Maduro to invade (strong word) their neighbor Guyana, a relative poor nation w/o much of anything in the way of national defense.

The incident, which Guyanese authorities angrily denounced and vowed to bring to the attention of the United Nations, reignites a feud Venezuelan communist dictator Nicol?s Maduro began with the neighboring country in 2015, claiming as much as two-thirds of Guyana itself belonged to Venezuela. Guyana has repeatedly noted that Venezuela signed an agreement in 1899 on the territory in question and no disputes remain as to who owns that land.

Claim 2/3 of another nations land? That doesn't seem right. What now, to heck with maps there are no borders?

If only Guyana had a border wall, at least the world would truly understand what part the Guyana's claimed as their country. [:D]

Venezuelan Nicholas Maduro must be getting worried about who he sees as his enemy, plus, maybe the buildup of humanitarian supplies being guarded by U.S. military forces is getting him nervous.

Caracas (AFP) ? President Nicolas Maduro announced Saturday he was severing diplomatic ties with Venezuela?s neighbor Colombia after it backed his rival Juan Guaido in his attempts to bring humanitarian aid into the country.

?I have decided to break off all political and diplomatic relations with the fascist government of Colombia,? Maduro told a huge rally of his supporters in the capital Caracas.

He gave Colombia?s diplomats 24 hours to leave the country. ?Get out of here, oligarchs!? he said.

Venezuelan President reaches NEW LOW. From the violence i'd say the Cuban communists are dictating how to put down the demonstrators,, kill enough of them and the rest will catch on.

Maduro burns AID from other countries as it comes in at their border.

Burns trucks while people who need to supplies look on. Maduro has told them to ignore the donated supplies from 'imperialism enemies" and eat cake.

The real president :?: Juan Guaido, returns to Venezuela, calls for more street protests.

My first act would have been to take cover and keep from being arrested or shot. But no, he got on top some scaffolding and waved to his supporters.

The 35-year-old leader of Venezuela?s National Assembly showed off his passport before climbing onto scaffolding and pumping his fist during the demonstration in Caracas, delighting euphoric followers whose efforts to oust Maduro have fallen short in a nation gripped by a humanitarian crisis.

Trump has imposed sanctions on Cuba over their support for Nicholas Maduro, current dictator of Venezuela. Make no mistake, Cuba is calling the shots in Venezuela. My thinking is the only way Maduro will get out of Venezuela will be in box.

Cuba can't afford to lose their "sugar daddy" supplier of "free gas/oil". Personally believe Cuba has controlled Venezuela for the last 12 months.

Today marks is the sixth day of country wide power outages. The first few days all but a couple of areas were without power, the capital city Caracas had no electrical power.
"Motorists park on highways, cell phones aloft, searching for a signal. The rich have taken refuge in luxury hotels. The poor stand in lines in the street," Reeves added.

Guess rich means the wealthy and the "political elites" although the truly wealthy left a long time ago. The political elites stayed because where else can you steal so much money? Like, where did the 100 billion spent on the electrical grid go??

Today is not much better. People are getting water from streams, and water run off from storm sewers as they empty into open canals. Hope they boil before taking baths or drinking. Ooops, no electricity to boil, well hope they have propane stoves or the natural gas system is functional,, that is the parts that don't require electricity. Lots of oil, maybe they have oil burning stoves,, oooooops,, hard to deliver oil w/o electricity. Madura says it's all the fault of the U.S. Yes, a cyber attack so says Maduro,, strange, think most of Venezuela's systems are still old style analog.. :D

Only took 20 years for Venezuela to go from South Americas most prosperous country to THIS MESS, a disaster only socialism can accomplish so much damage so quickly.

Hope the U.S. does NOT elect to go with socialist health care and social security. Honestly, the older V.A. hospital system would be an outstanding system in in comparison. Like,, no one would ask how you voted before giving you care or withhold care to get you to vote "correctly". This could never happen in the U.S.
A 65-year-old patient with heart failure entered his clinic ? and urgently needed oxygen, he said. The tanks sat in another room at the ready, he recalled.

But he said his Cuban and Venezuelan superiors told him to use the oxygen as a political weapon instead: Not for medical emergencies that day, but to be doled out closer to the election, part of a national strategy to compel patients to vote for the government.

May 20, 2018, was nearing, he said, and the message was clear: Mr. Maduro needed to win, at any cost.

?There was oxygen, but they didn?t let me use it,? said Dr. Arias, who defected from the Cuban government?s medical program late last year and now lives in Chile. ?We had to leave it for the election.?

The Doctor did the only thing he could do,,, Escaped to Chile. :(
