Our fathers watched it, to their dismay.
As the rights they so cherished, were stolen away.
Permission's required, and get a permit.
Stealing one after another, they'll never quit.

They discussed it among them, with heavy heart.
Being unable to fix it, tears them apart.
What could they do, what could they say?
As they watched it happening, day after day.

To pass this along, to the children that follow.
Was the one thing they found, hardest to swallow.
To think that our children, will inherit this mess.
What they'll think of us, they feared to guess.

We'll tell our children, about days of old.
When men were brave, and men were bold.
Where freedom reigned, far and wide.
When there was not any, reason to hide.

A tear in the eye, of a decent man.
To change it, to fix it, to make a plan.
Knowing all the time, it wasn't to be.
With all the arguing, they couldn't agree.

The word freedom, has a meaning for some.
Knowing we've lost it, makes the mind.numb.
What are the chances, of getting it back?
Not good this day, as the courage we lack.

In their ivory towers, they look down with distaste.
On the peasants below, they think such waste.
They see us as sheeple, so easy to herd.
To give us credit, to them.is absurd.

Where there honor lies, concerning our right.
Can't be mistaken, by the bills that they write.
Each one designed, to confuse and deceive.
Stripping our freedom, with the web that they weave.

But just in case, they send out their spies,
To infiltrate, listen, even make up some lies.
To encourage rebellion, to see who will bite.
To coax them, entrap them, they think is alright.

If the masters overhear, any treasonous chatter.
You'd soon find yourself, needing to scatter.
It mattered not, the quest was for freedom.
You threatened their rule, you threatened their kingdom.

No seed will sprout, they make certain of that.
Courageous leaders will die, at the drop of a hat.
Suspicion, distrust, of your fellow man.
Keeps us from talking, or making a plan.

They tell us to vote, and they laugh, oh so hard.
Knowing in their hand, they hold every card.
Let the sheeple think, that they have a say.
As we already control them, day after day.

They give us a choice, come election day.
And hold in their laughter, not to give it away.
Letting us think, there'll be change on the morrow.
Knowing all along, there'll be nothing but sorrow.

It matters not, how your vote is cast.
They'll control the future, as they have the past.
To think candidates differ, is what they portray.
But there really the same, in most every way.

To divide is to conquer, as we all know.
They do what they do, and we'll go with the flow.
We continue to bicker, as to who is the best.
Knowing deep down, one's as bad as the rest.

Nothing you do, nothing you say.
Will have an effect, in any way.
The master's plan, is working so well.
Can we change it, only time will tell?

Have we lost what it is, that makes us men.
The major difference, between now and then.
To sacrifice all, for what's known is right.
Only to question, unwilling to fight.

There comes a time, when there's no recourse.
Step up to the plate, with no remorse.
Those not willing, should feel the shame.
We'll know where they stand, no matter their claim.

Men will fight, and men will die.
Women and children, surly will cry.
I'll not deceive you, I will not lie.
The cost of the battle, will be very high.

The question asked, is of major concern.
We have to ask, we have to learn.
What will you do, be on your knees?
Everyday asking - may I, can I please?

Or stand like a man, willing to die?
Kissing your loved ones, saying goodbye.
Willing to fight, for what you truly believe.
Opposing tyranny, and taking your leave.

An excellent work and chronology on where we started, what we've become, where we are headed, and what must be done for real 'change' to happen.

Superb, and thanks for posting it.[;)]

It was not authored by me.

I received it from a friend who did not author it either. I have previously forwarded it to my circle of friends and acquaintances.

It makes one ponder some deadly-serious issues and should be shared to provoke critical thinking, IMO.

It most certainly does, which is all the more reason that this needs to be spread around to conservatives as well as liberals as it applies to everyone whether they believe or not and maybe it will cause some to rethink their stance.
