H.R. 45

It's starting! A bill has already been introduced in congress which will drastically change things. Read H.R. 45. This is in the judicial committee as we speak. Requires a federal gun permit and even fines holders if they move without contacting the Attorney General's office. We'd better wake up before it is too late! It's short title is "Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009."

    http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-45&tab=summary

Introduced by Obama's personal friend Rep. Bobby L. Rush, 1st District, IL (Chicago) on January 6, 2009

By the way, the bill contains language that would IMHO allow the federal government to proscribe certain firearms at their pleasure and then prohibit citizens from selling or transferring these.

The result would be that upon a gun owner's death or disqualification, the gun would be destroyed. It could no longer be transferred or legally owned.

In the draft AWB, the first weapon to be added to the list of proscribed firearms is the little M1 carbine. Imagine having your original Winchester carbine destroyed by the government if you pass away or are charged with a disqualifying crime.
