In a move to stimulate the shooting sports and create added value for its advertisers, FMG Publications has made GUNS Magazine free to 1,463,632,361 Internet users (the number being an estimate of worldwide Internet usage). In other words, the interactive digital edition of GUNS Magazine is now available at no charge to Internet users by visiting www.gunsmagazine.com, where readers can take advantage of online page turning, embedded links to manufacturers' Web sites in featured products and advertisements, and embedded video. "Why should the government get to have all the fun," said publisher Roy Huntington. "We want to stimulate the shooting sports economy by introducing GUNS Magazine to the world." FMG's trade publications, Shooting Industry and American COP, are also available in digital online editions.

I would turn down the free NRA membership if I subscribed.

I hope to start enjoying Shooting Industry via this avenue. There are a number of trade magazines for the industry and I hope to find the one that offers the most accurate data for would-be dealers. I used to have an FFL01 and am considering, but with much greater appreciation for the potential drawbacks, getting one again.

As for GUNS magazine, I like it, I subscribe already, and I will be happy to take advantage of the website as long as there is something that enhances my knowledge one way or another.
