Walking the walk

I am up early and a bit bleary eyed before drinking my coffee. I am off to spend Sat morning with the Boy Scouts helping them earn their rifle and shotgun merit badges.

Invariably it will be a bunch of white kids with parents that are more than likely 2nd amendment supporters. Nothing wrong with that. What I wouldn't give though, to get Hispanic and other minority troops up to the club for the same thing. As much as we all like to complain about the influx of immigrants, the Hispanic community might very well be fertile ground for countering the antis in both parties.

Cheers

I have worked the last 3 years with a "mixed" Boy Scout troop that has used our club to hold their turkey shoot .
The black kids love to shoot and so do their fathers .
I have tried to get a couple of the more interested involved in Scholastic Trap program .
    Have had no success.
I wonder if it is a money thing?
After all, these are expensive hobbies.

Trap is pricey. In fact it amazes me how quickly anything seems to get turned into a $1000 hobby anymore. My buddies and our kids are big into shooting recyclables. Inexpensive and good for the planet.

I am glad to hear you are working with your Scout troops too. You see I have the 2nd Amendment translated into Espanol in my sig line. I am thinking of getting 1000 business cards printed up and handing them out to every amigo I interact with. If they can learn and own the concept of the 2nd we all as Americans will benefit.

Trap ,skeet, sporting clays, bullseye, silhouette: all are pricey, even for adults.
I love to watch the air rifle shooters at the club.
Quite a few of these kids have more in their rifle than I do in my trap gun.[:0]
Somehow ,we have to keep them shooting though .
Then you can teach them the whole truth .[:D]

As an add on : we have one father with 3 kids + himself shooting trap.
the 16 year old girl won the "c" class singles in the past state shoot.
Took a lot of money to get to that point.
Don't envy the father: they probably go through 4 cases of shells each week .
