Nevada Gun Laws and ammunition shipments

CONTRARY TO THE SPORTSMAN'S GUIDE, there's no restrictive laws about shipping ammo to Reno, Nevada, PERIOD, no matter what they say. BATFE manuals (2007) show the current repeal of any ordinances by the City of Reno, as per Nevada State Law. Manuals that are quoting restrictions should be disregarded as stale information, something the Nevada State Legislature dealt with in 2005. You don't need a permit, license, fee, or any other claim those idiots try to lay on you. See for yourself. http://www.municode.com/Resources/ga...d=14160&sid=28
The only law in Nevada about ammo is that you can't own AP pistol ammo, but that's state law. To wit: The Nevada Legislature has broadly preempted counties and cities from regulating firearms. Nevada Revised Statutes Annotated ? 268.418(1) provides:
Except as otherwise provided by specific statute, the legislature reserves for itself such rights and powers as are necessary to regulate the transfer, sale, purchase, possession, ownership, transportation, registration and licensing of firearms and ammunition in Nevada, and no city may infringe upon those rights and powers.
Section 244.364(1) provides the same prohibition for counties. Both provisions apply only to local legislation adopted on or after June 13, 1989, the effective date of the provisions. 1989 Nev. ALS 308, ? 5. As a limited exception, counties and cities may regulate the "unsafe discharge of firearms." Sections 244.364(2), 268.418(2).
Other than that, any so called restrictions by sellers are self-imposed most likely for commercial reasons, certainly NOT for legal reasons.
Territorial sales agreements are common amongst many types of goods manufacturers, and that's possibly what any vendor that doesn't ship to Reno is hanging their hat on. What do you want to bet that these guys are affiliated with either Cabela's or Sportsman's Warehouse? Any vendor that says they can't ship here- you ask them what their legal reference is... i.e., which law SPECIFICALLY. They can't give you one, because it doesn't exist.
Nevada is one of the most gun friendly states in the nation; so please, the gun grabbers haven't 'done us in'.
Come to Nevada, shoot your 'guns for fun' at the skivvy house, shoot your weapons out in the desert, and leave as much money as much as you want, we LOVE it. We only ask, don't at shoot us...or we'll shoot back. [:D]
