A little rant in New Jersey's favor:

Last deer season almost 54,000 white - tails were taken in NJ. I got two on the 300 acre farm I have permission on here in so. Jersey. It is Turkey season here in the Garden state and 3000-5000 turkeys are taken each season. Most who knock NJ have never been there or have only seen the northeast "Armpit" area around New York City.

While NJ is the most densely populated state in the Union, the numbers are skewed by that northeast region. Northwest and western NJ lands are made up of open rolling hills and fields. South Jersey, south of Trenton and east of Philadelphia is largely farmland and forests. My father in law has a feed business and spreads lime for farmers in Salem and Cumberland counties which is largest eggplant producing state in the country. NJ is third in blueberry product and second in cranberry production in the United States. Believe it or not, the largest pool of fresh pure water out side of the Great Lakes is found in the aquifer under the Pine Barrens in Central/South Jersey.

While it has been a liberal bastion for a long time, that is changing. Gun laws became difficult under the Florio administration several years ago, but have been largely modified. The fights we have are on High Cap mags, CCW and pistol purchase permits. We have no restriction on face to face long gun transfers or handgun transfers.

We are not Idaho or Texas or Wyoming or Arizona but we are also not California or Massachusetts. That should not matter though. Regional and state differences are a minor point with the heavy boot of Federal oppression sweeping down upon us. We are Americans and proudly so. We have had a taste of the darkness of a powerful state government and the restrictions on our RTKBA are greater than other states. There are however, many in NJ who are right minded and preparing for the darkness that is sweeping the country as a whole. Believe it when I say there are 3%ers in NJ who are also preparing for the day.

New Jersey was the cross roads of the Revolution. We were at the Red Bank Battlefield yesterday and the battles for Princeton and Trenton were key in the war for independence. It will be a crossroads in the fight for freedom again.

Instead of knocking states and the policies of the elites, look for the common ground of love of country and willingness to stand up for it. There are Quislings in Trenton and Boston and Albany, but they also exist in Helena, Phoenix and Austin and Washington DC. They are to be feared and rooted out wherever they are. (By the way, I love that word Quisling. A hat tip to Highball for its use.)

Defending New Jersey on this forum is probably a lost cause, but the more important message is that we must stand together as Americans wherever we live and patriots.

Chris, while it makes me very uncomfortable to cross the border into your state, I will admit that the folks I work with in So. Jersey are as good as any I have had the pleasure to cross paths with. That is why, and only why, I come back twice a year in spite of that feeling I get crossing into socialist territory. Really, really good people. I look forward to seeing them every spring and fall, which helps with the fact that I am missing most of my own hunting seasons back home.[;)]

P.S. Pennsville, or thereabouts, is where we reside on our visits there. Apparently you are very nearby?

Pitman, very nearby. We duck hunt down in the area around the mouth of the Maurice River, just east and south of Pennsville. Next time you are coming in let me know, we have a range to shoot at not far away and lunch at one of the great diners in the area.

Socialist, maybe closer than the rest of the country, for now... We have however, a strong federal government that is pushing us in that direction and will, if there is no push-back, make state differences inconsequential and the "socialism" of states like NJ look like child's play.

Defending Liberty is NEVER a lost cause..wherever and whenever.

I welcome my brothers in Arms WHEREEVER they reside...as long as the clear meaning of words is within their grasp of understanding.

I will defend Americans to the last breath and to the last drop of blood.

Those that feel that somehow the Beast is more to be trusted then their fellow man get nothing from me...no succor, no trust, not one drop of water in the desert.

We are residents of whatever states we live in. We are, however, citizens of the United States. I defend NJ only because it is actually not a bad place to live. [;)]

I will defend the America of the Constitution because I am an American.

We can kid around about this or that state and it's peculiarities. We must be deadly serious about the threat to our freedom and way of life that is posed by a powerful and large federal government. There are too many with their hands out waiting for their sustenance from the federal government. They will fight to maintain and expand this government and will be in the army opposing freedom. Witness the thousands of illegals and their enablers in the streets last weekend.

Pitman? Not familiar with it. South or east of Salem? I have stayed in Penns Grove/Carney's point and Pennsville. Drive through Salem everyday enroute to the plant. North, east, and south of those areas I am unfamiliar with. Don't have time for fun when I'm there. Work a 12/6 schedule.

About twelve miles north of Salem. Were you at Salem for the outage?

lobo: No. I am in NH with Mrs. Lobo for a few more days before I head back with a stop in MI to visit my sister. Should return towards the end of May.

shot: That is correct. Barring unforseens, I will return this fall for Hope Creek.

Missed the thread, but I wouldn't be surprised. They have turned our state into a sanctuary state. The criminal aliens are even welcomed in speeches by the politicians. Bastages.

JP, let me know when you arrive. I think we have enough GB members in the area to attempt a gathering this summer.
