Quisling

MatchshotMatchshot Member Posts: 452 ✭✭✭
Not exactly on topic, but I just have to say, this is a great word. I just read lt496's post where he uses it to describe the NRA. So much better than just saying collaborator or traitor because it also sounds like a slimy little weasel.

I know it is from WWII but, who used it here first? Highball?

What other words convey so much meaning and are more modern? Quisling like Vichy goes back a ways, there must be others.

Barack? describing an weak little vacillating man

Well, an apt descriptor of the very bottom-line of the ethic & philosophy that is exhibited by those who are destroying us, is 'Collectivist' derived from 'Collectivism'.

It underlays all the diversionary descriptors, such as liberal, neoconservative, socialist, communist, fascist, ect, which spring from this ethic & philosophy.

Isn't interesting that those who seek to enslave us cloak their ethos in such optimistic jargon like "Progressivism" or warm, fuzzy "Socialism" and "Maoism" when indeed they are the words of the power hungry and the blood thirsty. At the bottom, collectivism has murdered countless millions and subjected parts of humanity to untold misery.

Those in executive power now are slowly but surely being exposed for what they truly are. I fear that as this happens and they lose popularity they will be compelled to tear the smiling mask off and seek to exert their power in a more direct and brutal way.

I urge none to 'fear' this action on the part of the elites.

Anger is a far more appropriate response..anger turning to deadly calm and even deadlier actions...

We are AMERICANS...and we simply will not allow usurpers to continue indefinitely.

    Agreed. Anger and hatred.

I will vote this Nov., but it wont' be for any DEMONcrat or republiCON at the national level.

We have our sheriff coming up again this time. We ousted the 26 year leader of the "good ol' boys club" last time but didn't see much improvement with the new guy, that I could tell anyway. So I have been trying to get the challenger to take a loud and vocal constitutional stand. We shall see.

    edit: oops, hijack[B)]

Descriptive words, eh? Well, with the lack of patience I have developed with the blinders wearing folks over the last several years, one of my favorites, while not new or original, has become *. It just fits so well with so many, and works like a pressure relief valve.[:D]

Okay okay, I will think on it some more...[B)][:)]

Fear is a vital response to physical and emotional danger-if we couldn't feel it, we couldn't protect ourselves from legitimate threats. I do fear for this country, for the tyranny that could engulf it. How we face and act on fear is the measure of the individual.

I knew a fine man that was one of the first to land at Normandy on D-Day. He said that some froze with fear. Others ran forward toward the enemy. They were all afraid, some showed themselves as ineffectual or cowards, the others faced their fear and acted appropriately upon it.

    All right, Match ;
    I accept that.
I reckon what I was trying to say was...do not allow that fear to paralyze us.
Of COURSE decent men feel fear...unless one is a psychopath, that is a normal reaction.
Just as you stated...we must turn that fear into effective action, when it finally is called for.
