Gun group blasts TX prof who said school shooting is `typical 2A exercise'

Bellevue's Second Amendment Foundation quickly fired off a rebuttal against a University of Texas (Austin) law professor who sent an e-mail in the wake of Monday's deadly school shooting in Ohio that the incident was a "another typical exercise of the 2d Amendment rights."

The e-mail, posted on a listserve, was intercepted by the Washington Free Beacon, and once publicized, it went viral across cyberspace. Professor Calvin Johnson, who sent the e-mail, is a law professor who apparently focuses on tax issues, and if one were to read SAF founder Alan Gottlieb's remarks, Johnson ought to stick to taxes.

"To contend that Monday's tragic school shooting is typical behavior for citizens exercising their rights under the Second Amendment is simply outrageous. What is even more alarming is that this fellow actually teaches law at an American university."-Alan Gottlieb, SAF executive vice president

Interesting that this would come from a Lib Professor in Texas. Texas and Utah are some of the few States that actually allow and promote armed teachers in the classroom. There are entire School Districts in Texas that have armed teacher programs that include annual training and qualifications through the local Sheriff's Office. You don't hear about school shootings in Texas or Utah for that matter.

As I've stated before.Austin is no longer part of Texas. It's simple another cesspool of liberal drones.

When California slips into the sea, I hope a sinkhole sucks Austin and Dallas out along with it!

    ..Yes, this not-so-profezzor is a total a-hole!

most of these clowns waltz along thru life scurrying under the protective cover of real people and have never suffered the violence of crime...amazing how some of these can be tenured for life...to the detriment for our society as originally set forth

The guy should, at least, have his head examined just for making an asinine statement like that. Actually he should be fired!

It is not an "exercise of the 2nd" but rather a violation of the 2nd. This professor either doesn't understand the historical context of the 2nd, or plainly wishes to distort it for political gain. Either way he is a dumb *...

Typical liberal. If I hear a story about black on black crime, or muslim terrorism and conclude they are all like that, this guy will be the first to berate me for thinking like that. Liberals are all like that. [:D]
