What do we do now?

cat66hatcat66hat Member Posts: 70 ✭✭
What do we do now that our President, the media, and most of our elected officials will risk outright treason to disarm law-abiding citizens?

With sincere respect to others who continue to practice non-violence and reason:

We stop talking,
We gather our family and good friends close,
We choose how we want our children to remember us.

May God Bless you all.

Ok, maybe there is one other thing.

We need a militia call-out signal, by locality. Any ideas?

Need to have a good supply of relay horse scattered around also. Need something to eat after all.

Do you remember history? Wounded Knee comes to mind:

A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY TO THINK ABOUT.......December 29, 2012 marks the 122nd Anniversary of the murder of 297 Sioux Indians at Wounded Knee Creek on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. These 297 people, in their winter camp, were murdered by federal agents and members of the 7th Cavalry who had come to confiscate their firearms "for their own safety and protection". The slaughter began after the majority of the Sioux had peacefully turned in their firearms. The Calvary began shooting, and managed to wipe out the entire camp. 200 of the 297 victims were women and children. About 40 members of the 7th Cavalry were killed, but over half of them were victims of fratricide from the Hotchkiss guns of their overzealous comrades-in-arms. Twenty members of the 7th Cavalry's death squad, were deemed "National Heroes" and were awarded the Medal of Honor for their acts of [cowardice] heroism.

We hear very little of Wounded Knee today. It is usually not mentioned in our history classes or books. What little that does exist about Wounded Knee is normally a sanitized "Official Government Explanation". And there are several historically inaccurate depictions of the events leading up to the massacre, which appear in movie scripts and are not the least bit representative of the actual events that took place that day.

Wounded Knee was among the first federally backed gun confiscation attempts in United States history. It ended in the senseless murder of 297 people.

Before you jump on the emotionally charged bandwagon for gun-control, take a moment to reflect on the real purpose of the Second Amendment, the right of the people to take up arms in defense of themselves, their families, and property in the face of invading armies or an oppressive government. The argument that the Second Amendment only applies to hunting and target shooting is asinine. When the United States Constitution was drafted, "hunting" was an everyday chore carried out by men and women to put meat on the table each night, and "target shooting" was an unheard of concept. Musket balls were a precious commodity and were certainly not wasted on "target shooting". The Second Amendment was written by people who fled oppressive and tyrannical regimes in Europe, and it refers to the right of American citizens to be armed for defensive purposes, should such tyranny arise in the United States.

As time goes forward, the average citizen in the United States continually loses little chunks of personal freedom or "liberty". Far too many times, unjust gun control bills were passed and signed into law under the guise of "for your safety" or "for protection". The Patriot Act signed into law by G.W. Bush, was expanded and continues under Barack Obama. It is just one of many examples of American citizens being stripped of their rights and privacy for "safety". Now, the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is on the table, and will, most likely be attacked to facilitate the path for the removal of our firearms, all in the name of "our safety".

Before any American citizen blindly accepts whatever new firearms legislation that is about to be doled out, they should stop and think about something for just one minute-
Evil does exist in our world. It always has and always will. Throughout history evil people have committed evil acts. In the Bible one of the first stories is that of Cain killing Abel. We can not legislate "evil" into extinction. Good people will abide by the law, and the criminal element will always find a way around it.

Evil exists all around us, but looking back at the historical record of the past 200 years, across the globe, where is "evil" and "malevolence" most often found? In the hands of those with the power, the governments. That greatest human tragedies on record and the largest loss of innocent human life can be attributed to governments. Who do the governments always target? "Scapegoats" and "enemies" within their own borders.but only after they have been disarmed to the point where they are no longer a threat. Ask any Native American, and they will tell you it was inferior technology and lack of arms that contributed to their demise. Ask any Armenian why it was so easy for the Turks to exterminate millions of them, and they will answer "We were disarmed before it happened". Ask any Jew what Hitler's first step prior to the mass murders of the Holocaust was- confiscation of firearms from the people.

Wounded Knee is the prime example of why the Second Amendment exists, and why we should vehemently resist any attempts to infringe on our Rights to Bear Arms. Without the Second Amendment we will be totally stripped of any ability to defend ourselves and our families.

    Well stated!

Whoa! Don't give up yet. We all sit around and write in these forums - take a break and use the tools on the NRA website(and links on the Sturm/Ruger website) to write your Federal, State and Local politicians on how you feel about more ineffective gun laws. Also, get on your local media if they are leaning the wrong way.

Be polite, direct, firm and professional. I wrote 5 letters to my elected officials on Jan. 7, 2013 and only received one reply; from my Republican Member of the House of Representatives - Absolutely no replies from the Democrat side - So now you know where the problem lies - keep on 'em - there's another election coming soon in 2014!

I live in Michigan. The gimmies (of all races) in the big cities have elected progressive Senators Levin and Stabenow. My opinions have a snowball's chance in hell of being given even a fair hearing.

My last attempt at reason was to urge that the US withdraw from the UN, based on the recognition of Palestine in clear violation of the UNs own charter. That went over real big when I pointed out that we provide most of the financial support for the UN while it is being used to ridicule us. I'm sure they had a good chuckle at that.

Write to Obama? What's the point.

Write to the NRA? I think it is really telling when you try to find a link on their web site that will allow you to voice your opinions. The more I find out about the NRA, the more of a fool I feel like for contributing to them.

Sorry dude, there is no one to listen who can do anything.

We each have three direct representatives in Congress. Two of mine have received a direct email from their website and the third (a Democrat Senator) has received two because of a form letter response to the first.

I will be mailing out written letters this weekend with the same basic message, as actual letters, if we are to believe those that supposedly know, are taken more seriously than an email or fax.

The next step is to do the same with your direct representatives in your state legislatures. Had the the normal gestation period been observed in the New York State legislature, this may have made a difference, at least it may have made the vote closer.

Half and hour per week would be sufficient to contact the 5 direct representatives you have. If you are posting on this forum, you can contact them. If 50 million of use spent this half-hour, it would impact the decision making process.
Freedom and a submissive populace cannot co-exist.

It is sad when the government and the media make law-abiding gun owners and constitutionalists into the "bad guys". We have a long fight ahead to keep our rights and straighten things out. But look on the bright side. If gun owners hadn't immediately told politicians to leave the 2nd amendment alone in a loud and clear way over the last month, don't you think we would have already had anti-constitutional gun laws passed? We took a hit in NY, but that fight hasn't completely ended yet. New gun laws everywhere else are stalled. And look at the support we got from some of the states and law enforcement agencies. I also have some problems with the NRA (they need new management) yet at least they make a lot of noise. There will still be a few bad days, but I'm not selling any guns yet.

I called my congressman and senators. I wrote editorials. We all have to. I've also accepted that gun laws are just one battle in the war the big government liberals & socialists are waging against us. Even when there is no talk of new gun laws I always vote against them. No matter how much free stuff they want to give us, in the end they will try to control us and take away our guns.

I have a couple of more thoughts...Ok it wasn't initially ment to be a joke, but I'll go with it...

Thought 1) If the government wants my guns and ammo, it's OK by me, but I'm likely to choose to give them the bullets first.

Thought 2) Maybe now is the time for a US Representative to introduce a bill to roll back ALL the federal laws around guns. It could show the progressives that when you mess with a bull, sometimes you get the horns.

How about it? Any US Representatives out there with balls? The Bill could not be stopped by the courts, because it would be simply conforming to the 2A.

If you go to the opposition sites and look at the statistics and look at what ethic group is responsible for the majority of gun homicides, gun violence you will discover that African Americans are responsible for 7 times the rate of occurrences. These statistics , just today another shooting in Chicago are being used to support gun control legislation.
No one wants to bring this up or talk about this. I welcome any intelligent conversation.

I am sincerely sorry if my inadvertent use of the word 'our' suggests that I voted for Barak Hussein Obama. He may be a good father and husband, I have no way to judge that. As a politician, he is awesome, and he would probably think that that is a compliment. I fear him greatly and despise what he is doing to OUR country.

I hope I have made my feelings clear.

listen to this SOUND ADVICE that James Yeager gives in this video.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UuyjecAhx0

this fight will be won or lost in Washington DC politically, JOIN the NRA-ILA, Gun Owners of America, NAGR, etc.- IF YOU DON'T you are making a very foolish, ill-informed decision- because if this debate is LOST in Congress, you will be considered an "insurgent" and a "bandit" - historically those are people who are buried in mass graves with no marker- per Yeager's very accurate historic account.

2 words- Predator Drones- you will never even see or hear it coming

    OK, I had another thought.

If things start to go south, media control wins.

Who knows about small printing presses? This forum will only serve to direct the enemy to us.

What kind of portable presses, how to get them and how much?

You mean you don't have a printer?
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

Let us not confuse this argument with the facts! It is the evil black guns not the black people who are the problem. If we follow your logic all we would have to do is take the black bad guys off the street and gun crimes would all but dry up. Wait a minute? Oh crap ! LOL

    Mr. P,

I have a couple of printers at my home. The both are powered by electricity. The USG/FEMA will control the grid. If you surrender your guns, you get power. Simple, especially in the Northern states, in the winter.

I am seriously trying to find out how to print without electricity. Information is power.
