My pro gun letter to the Editor

I just sent it. Worked on it for two weeks. Got a lot of good info off this forum.
Feel free to use it as is or edit as you wish and send to your local papers. The vote on gun control is coming down soon.

In this letter I would like to address the lies and dirty tricks by the anti gun activist and the main movers behind stripping Americans of their rights under the Constitution, the Progressives or Socialists.?
? Lie number one are the polls. We are being told a majority of Americans support all manner of gun control proposals being floated from background checks to bans on "assault Weapons". One like was that a majority of NRA members support enhanced background checks to buy guns. I wonder how they got that poll when the NRA membership rolls are not public information? I frequent many internet firearms forums and I have yet to meet any of these NRA members. Nor was I ever asked my opinions in any poll that had an anti gun result. The lie is exposed if you just keep your eyes on the news. Two months ago it was reported that Sacramento politicians discussed gun control options behind closed doors and no media or public was invited. Does that sound like actions supported by? grass roots or every day Americans? In new York State there are 62 counties total. Forty eight counties have passed resolutions calling for the repeal of the SAFE act recently passed. Four Counties are debating resolutions calling for the repeal and only ten counties have not taken a position pro or con. We are talking County Governments not just some gun nuts grumbling to themselves in the local watering hole! Not to mention NY politicians passed the bill in the dead of night taking no public input. Does that sound like the actions of a movement that has a majority of public support to you??
? Recently we saw pro gun rights rallies across the nation one here in Lewiston and I do not hear about rallies calling for more gun control laws. I took part in the public protest outside the court house Feb 23rd, two of us were even armed with un loaded firearms and I can tell you the vast majority of people were honking in support and giving the thumbs up. Only one women shook her head to signal any disapproval.?
? The liars say it's the NRA standing in the way of reasonable gun control. Two lies there in.. It's the NRA's membership who votes and American gun owners in general who are sympathetic to the cause who also vote that stand in the way of the gun control agenda that is neither reasonable or logical. The entity, NRA does not vote all they can do is lobby and show the politicians how many members live in their districts. 40% of guns bought skip any background check. The figure is closer to 10% the lie comes in when they are including private sales that are allowed by law in some states. It's legal because those states decided they should be. All of the illegal private sales are already well, illegal. The forty % also include buyers who have Federal Firearms Collector licenses. If you have a license you skip the background check but you had a background check to get the License. ? Many of the readers sitting on the fence probably cannot understand why the gun lobbies and their membership oppose enhanced background checks. The Reason is because the label is another case of false advertising and the actual goal of the progressives is registration. And we will always oppose registration of honest peaceable citizens. Registration forms are for criminals like sex offenders. Get it now??When I read anti gun letters in your news paper I know they are probably lying when they start off by saying they support the second Amendment. They own guns too, sure they do.?
? The Dirty Tricks: When a pro gun control rally was held in New York a almost two weeks ago pro gun counter protestors came out to meet them and the numbers on both side were about the same. About two hundred each side. The Media was there and they knew the truth but the news paper write up lied and said only twenty five pro gun counter protestors were in attendance. We out here in America are not falling for the left's gun control scam.?
We don't have to compromise, if the left does not love America and our freedoms let them move their sorry backsides to some foreign shore.?They lie when they say Americans want gun control.?Too many lies from the anti gunners! They lie they cheat and they only target the law abiding for political reasons, we know it and we're sick of it. NO MORE GUN CONTROL. As Vice president Joe Biden would say it's a whole lot of Malarkey.

No since I am the author! If it;s for the cause I give any and all free use of any of my writings including editing to your own tastes.
The papers would probably frown on it but if you send it in abouts the same time and they print it what is done is done.
