Conceal - Carry Renewal for Wake County, NC?

To Whom It May Concern,
This may be a bit too specific a question for this forum but I thought that I'd give it a shot anyway. My Wake County, NC Conceal - Carry permit is up for renewal in August 2014. I've read the information on the website (I think anyway?) and can't really determine what the current requirements are for renewal. I've tried on several occasions to contact the Wake County Sheriff's Office by phone and can never get through or put on hold for an eternity. I guess my questions are do I have to go back through the education/certification process again plus pay the renewal fee OR do I only need to send in a form with a renewal fee? I've gotten different answers from several people. So, if you have any information on this and/or a web-link you could provide me it would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Mike

If you have problems contacting your local Sheriff, I'd to the next step and call/write you state attorney general for clarification.
