Nearly 30 years ago now, I had a Sten gun that was a shooter. With permission from the principal, my 12 yr.old son took it to school for show and tell(around Rememberance Day)no ammo though. It was a historical military object. Had I kept it and had it registered as a prohibited firearm when that law came in, I could still shoot it at a range today.

    Thank the NRA!
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

It was either registered or illegal 30 yrs ago. If it were purchased and registered like every other machine gun prior to 1986 it would be legal.
