I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget - the ones who died - who gave that right to me
And I'll gladly stand up - next to you - and defend her still today
Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land, God Bless the USA.
Here we are again??.Independence Day 2018. Things are good, I can?t complain too much. The biggest problem I see is the millennials. They don?t even know what July 4th is all about, why we remember it, celebrate it and the significance of it. One actually said it was the day Christopher Columbus found America??.How Sad!!! Oh yea, and think that they are correct and we are all wrong. The problem is Common Core and Entitlements. The government wants to make sheep and corral them into the slaughter house. These people will run our country some day and that will be horrific. The Democrats will ruin this country and we will be a communist Society. Freedom as we know it today will be a distant memory. Let?s get that wall built and at least keep the RIFF RAFF out. Enough said??Happy Fourth.
Happy Independence Day to you fellas once again. This once fine Republic is swirling the drain, and many people could not care less, it seems. I'm still here though, sluggin' it out.
There are more than 3, rest assured. Some of us that didn't get banned, just don't frequent GB forums much anymore.
I agree things are bleak for the future, but all you can do is stand firm, and enjoy your life as best you can,.....while you can. This is the outlook I have adopted at least.
Best to you fellers![:)]

It has been over 1 year since I visited Gunbroker. I have been extremely busy with work, building a new house, garage and selling my parents house. It took me over 1 week to get re-registered into this site and I missed my yearly 4th of July post. I hope all the old timers are still holding there guns tight and stocking up. Trump has the world at his finger tips for the next 5-1/2 years. There is no telling what will happen after that. I hope everyone had a safe and happy Independence Day. It truly was a magical day for me.
Great to see ya stop by Forester, hope all finds you well. There are some of us believers still hanging on here, but damn, there seems to be a lot of Fudds here.

Was wondering how you're doing. Glad to see you post. I'm holding my breath that Trump doesn't continue his path of unconstitutional actions regarding guns. I don't have much hope for the next year and a half and if he gets reelected that may mean the end of gun ownership as we know it, but I sure how not. We shall see.

Yes I'm still here lurking in the shadows. I have never been busier. Work here in northern NY is plentiful if you don't mind actually working. If you don't want to work, our tyrant governor Andy Homo will give you a free ride if you vote for him. He gets plenty of votes from NY City where all the lazy welfare folks sponge off us northern hillbillies. Cuomo is always trying to take our guns away but we crazy rednecks stick together and he knows we have a lot of rope.
What's this business about Trump trying to get our guns ?? I don't see it that way at all. If Biden, crazy Bernie or maybe Michelle Obama get in the White House we are doomed. You better get all your friends to vote for the "Don" or we will have a civil war and a revolution at the same time. Ammo bans and restrictions are coming in the next 24 months. Better stock up now while you still can. Buy cannon fuse before its all banned now....Get as much gun powder and primers you can keep dry now.
I'm all set. I'm just relaxing and enjoying the time before it all implodes when some stupid politician thinks they know better. Hope it don't but I'm ready for hell if it does. I feel sorry for the dumb * that wants what I have !
Freedom is not free. We owe it all to the military men and woman......Past Present and Future !!
Freedom is not free. We owe it all to the military men and woman......Past Present and Future !!
IMO, we owe it to those that insisted upon the individual liberty nature of the US Constitution and those who through the years who have worked to hold onto those individual liberties.
The last time the US Military was used to force a decision that directly impacted the freedoms of US Citizens, is when it was used by President Lincoln to force a group of Americans to stay in the Union. It was used to deny freedom, not promote freedom.
It is impossible to say what would have happened had we stayed of the world wars, and it is fairly obvious that the wars and actions following 1945 have had little to do with the freedom of the individual American.
Our freedoms are under attack today, and if push comes to shove, we will owe our freedom to those that stand and fight the military forces that are brought to bear. Sure there will be many, no doubt 10s of thousands of military personnel who hold their oath more dear than their orders. I think it fairly safe, however, to assume that most will not.
Freedom and a submissive populace cannot co-exist.

Dead. Nuts. On.
Nice to see this display of unvarnished honesty, clarity of thought and of objective assessment. These things have been all but eradicated in our indoctrinated society.
Factually, the lack of these things are a primary mechanism of the loss of liberty.

Are you wholly unaware of the bump stock ban or are you suggesting Trump played no part in directing the ATF (at the NRA's behest, no less)? And no doubt you realize Trump's stance on firearm ownership isn't very 2A friendly where Ar-15 ownership is concerned. Should I be concerned you're not getting enough breathable air there in upstate NY?

I am fully aware of everything Trump does with regards to firearms. I was not very happy...?...but ask yourself, what would have happened if Hillary were sitting in the oval office instead of Trump ?

There is no excuse...none...for any oath taking elected 'official' to violate that oath. None. Period. Full stop.
Hypothetical scenarios are naught but diversion from what Trump has done and appears likely to do. Those things being to order the anti-constitution ATF to unconstitutionally ban via regulation private property, aka the Trumpstock Ban.
Trump has also called for and facilitated totally unconstitutional firearms seizures [red flag 'laws'] which textually violate numerous of the Bill of Rights...the old 'seize the guns first, due process later' Trump declaration.
He has openly opined that he is also considering a silencer/suppressor ban.
All of this on top of his life history [until a mere few years go when he miraculously became a Republican] of being a New Yawk Clinton-supporting Democrat in support of all manner of gun control, including 'assault weapons' bans.
He is an oath-breaker and a life-long dyed-in-the-wool big city collectivist-statist who is a huge federal-govt supremacist.
It is what it is so there is no rational way to make excuses for it. Why would any free man and individual liberty advocate do so?

We have what we have.
Trump should be held to a Constitutional standard, not a comparative standard.
Freedom and a submissive populace cannot co-exist.

Hard to say what Hillary would have done. We could compare Trump to Obama on gun matters. Trump has done significantly greater damage by any measure. So, assuming Hillary would have followed suit with Obama (and had the Republican party in opposition to her) she would likely been more 2A friendly than Trump has been.
It always amazes me how folks are so willing to adopt constitutional intrusions, so long as it comes with the correct R or D stamp.
It was never clearer, when Republicans cheered over the Patriot Act, and Democrats booed it for giving the president too much power.
Then, when Obama expanded it, Republicans booed it for giving the president too much power, and Democrats cheered.
It's like they think their "guy" will always be in power, so it's ok.
It's never ok. And even if it were, regimes change. The wind blows. We keep cutting off our feet and our freedom and rah-rah-ing our party when they wield their power and do it... to our demise.

WOW - what a year so far. To all my brothers in arms all over The United States of America, as you all know we are on the doorsteps of something epic and historic that will change the world. I pray that when the dust settles we can go back to some form of peace and tranquility. Last year I wrote that Trump had the world at his finger tips. What a major change. Nothing is certain and anything is possible ! Until then, be at the ready for a call to arms at anytime !
Hard to imagine a positive response to a 'a call to arms' when the vast majority of the citizenry cower behind masks due to the dictate of petty tyrants in State Houses. We have become less independent over the past 12 months than, dare I say, any 12 months period in the history of this country since 1865. We are afraid to call out Marxist protesters for what they are even as they give cover to violent destruction of people and property. Our police forces and National Guard members are neutered and forced to take bricks to the head without responding to such lethal attacks with lethal force. Our history is being rewritten in an overtly Orwellian fashion so that our young will not have ready access to monuments that inform as to both the positive and negative paths we have taken on our way to where we are today. Honest information is difficult to find, so people flee to ideologies and read only that which supports their preconceived positions. The United States of America is at a cross roads. At present the forces of socialism are co-opting a racial divide to accelerate the process of remaking our country into something that little resembles the simplicity and individualistic nature of our founding. I will still celebrate our Independence from Great Britain this coming July 4th. I will do so with a heavy heart, however, as concurrent with that celebration is the recognition that we are becoming captives of a growing collectivist surge that threatens virtually everything for which this day stands.
Freedom and a submissive populace cannot co-exist.
I'm still doing my thing everyday. Its bad all over and getting worse daily. No predicting what tomorrow will bring....just be prepared ! Good luck to you all. I just hope I can update this tread next 4th of July.
