My lellte brother was reciently fired from his job as a custodian at a public school because he was talking about hunting with a coworker and he mentioned that I have an old Mauser I use for hunting. Somebody overheard him talking about guns and went to the boss saying they felt threatened. Because of this he lost his job. All he was doing was mentioning that his brother had a rifle (good thing he only mentioned my Mauser not my AR-15,SKS,derringer or collection of knives. Then he probably would have got more serious charges brought against him. Is this just crazy or what?

He should contact an attorney reguarding a 1st Amendment lawsuit. Or give them the chance to reinstate with back pay.

greetings, complete agreement with alpine, might want to bring a suit against the tattle tail on 1st amendment grounds as any threat was only perceived an not a real threat, but the consequence was quite real,ie, dismisal. that is like shouting wrongly "fire" in a crowded room, that type of speach is not protected by first amendment, neither is anyone that witch hunts like that. respt submitted dads-freehold
