victims of the waiting period

jimkanejimkane Member Posts: 1,534 ✭✭✭✭✭
does anyone happen to have stats on how many people have become victims due to the waiting period to purchase handguns? In other words how many people have felt threatened enough to purchase a handgun but then during the waiting period they were killed by the individual whom they were threatened by.

Would be an interesting statistic, but doubt if possible. Am confident on ocassion individuals apply for permit but never follow through with purchase.

That is the stupidest thing out there... waiting periods...

On second thought, ALL gun control is the stupidest things out there. Only an idiot votes for them AND the people who support it.

I have no idea about your question, but waiting periods are the absolute worst way to deal with a non-existing problem.

Its stupid all right but WalyMart has extended its policy to five days. And the law says a maximum 3 day wait on gun purchase for background checks.

At the wally mart here in AR if your background check is delayed by nics you have to wait until nics calls back with a reply no matter how long it takes. If the back ground check is aproved you can buy the gun then. Some times you can call nics back the next day and ask for the status check on the form and they will reply then.
