Ballistic Fingerprinting is pointless and stupid. As a forensic tool used and required by 2 states already, it has a track record of ZERO solved homicides, and would use up literally millions to billions to keep running.

    When will they ever learn???

"Ballistic Fingerprinting" is unworkable, smoke n' mirrors scheme to pre-register your firearms. The idea sounds good until you think about it for a second.
Unless all 547 million firearms in this country are "fingerprinted" with all types of ammunition prior to the installation of the database, and then all NEW firearms are subjected to the same nonsense; it will never work.
The database containing the "old" guns' data would be enormous-on the order of seventy billion gigabytes with multiple entries and photographs of each projectile/firearm combination-and then add all new guns and ammo...I don't think so.
You'd still have to account for all the switch-barrel guns ie: 1911's, 10-22's, shotguns with chokes, etc. because the "fingerprint" can be altered by simply putting a new barrel on.
Then you'd have to stop commerce in polishing compounds like David Tubbs' Final Finish and JB Bore Paste because they would change the "fingerprint" as well.
Smarmy political weasels (sorry, weasels)like Chuck Schumer will try to convince you that it is a reasonable step to try to stop the slaughter of innocent blah, blah....so use the other organs God gave you and THINK IT THROUGH.

If you know it all; you must have been listening.WEAR EAR PROTECTION!

I'm not even sure what this is about, when no vote should be casted, as a violation of the 4th Amendment.
