can any one give me any updated information on wisconsin in regaurds to were this state stands on ccw permits

    Section 941.23 of the Wisconsin Statutes makes it a Class A misdemeanor (fine not to exceed $10,000 or imprisonment not to exceed 9 months, or both) to go armed with a concealed and dangerous weapon. There is constant talk in the state legislature about allowing CCW by permit, but the issue never goes anywhere. I expect the issue will float again this session, and with a fully Republican legislature it might actually have legs this time. However, we've just elected a Democrat for governor and he's not very gun friendly. If a bill gets through, it will probably be vetoed and the legislature won't have the votes to override his veto. We'll wait and see.
