Check your KS State constitution rights

Maybe I am just a 60 year old geezer who thinks he knows more than he does. But the Kansas State Constitution Bill of Rights Paragraph 4 clearly gives the citizens the right to bear arms. To check go to
http://skyways.lib.ks.us/kansas/KSL/Ref/GovDocs/Kan/State_Const/rights.html. or just search with keyword of Kansas State Constitution and select the right web site. As long as the Kansas Constitution doesn't violate the U.S. Constitution, which I don't think it does, or violate any federal laws, then why the hell aren't Kansas citizens allowed to carry guns? I realize that anytime a lawyer-type gives an opinion or writes a law that can be understood by the average person then that lawyer thinks he hasn't done his job right.. But "The people have the right to bear arms for their defense and security;" seems pretty easy to understand. But Kansas citizens can't even legally carry a concealed expandable baton. What is wrong with this picture? Larry

if they don't want us to have guns for self defense, what do they want us to have?

O.K., I just tried to access the "skyways" website but was unable to pull up the KS. Constitution. So if interested, try http://www.harbornet.com/rights/Kansas.txt

TR FOX: I know what "They" want. History proves: Leaders always prefer Subjects to Free Citizens. Look at the leaders people have followed in the past. Caesar, Napoleon, Hitler, Marcos, Ghandi, Washington, Last and least; Bill Clinton. Do people actually chose to follow, or do most merely Roll with the Flow? How did Bosnia happen? Libia, North Korea, South Korea? I thnk Jefferson said it best in the "Declaration of Independence".

    I'll second that one, Ronnie.

    Death to Tyrants!!!

Those who would offer any interpretation that would relegate Amendment II to "relic" status of a bygone era are blatantly stating that the remainder of the Bill of Rights isn't worth a damn, either.
