Is this America or what?

Regardless of what the liberals would like us to believe, we are better than a lot of other countries. Is it the people, no. Is it the government, a little maybe. What sets us apart from any other country are our freedoms and our liberties, but most importantly our foundation on Christian principles. We took prayer out of school in 1962, and there has been a noticible downhill trend ever since then, that not only suggests, but screams the fact that restricting prayer had everything to do with it. We can go to school wearing almost any type of clothing, representing almost any band, person, fad, cult, etc., and we can swear up a storm, and we can pass out condoms at school, but we cannot mutter God's name, nor can we wear clothes affiliated with Christianity, because we "might offend someone." Well I have news for everyone who says differently. Christians have a right to express their religious affiliation just like everyone else does. In addition to that, there is has been a noticable change in our country in the last few decades that the "scholars" cannot explain. The rise in delinquency, crime, divorce, etc. is off the charts. WE NEED TO GET BACK TO GOD!

In addition, and secondary to that, we need to keep standing up for our rights. We wait to long to get angry about them taking our freedoms and liberties away. We don't get angry until the legislation is passed. We need to get off of our butts and do something about the Californias, the Illinois, the Massachusets, etc. We need to fight these in court. That means that we have to get organized and function as a unit. Why do these other groups get more legislation passed regarding gun control? It's not because they are powerful, it's not because they have money, it's not because they know people. It's Because they are unified in cause. Even if they don't agree with each other on everything, they do on this, and that is enough. We need to be the same way. Whether you just hunt, plink, collect, or carry for protection, we need to become unified in cause and peacably assemble to state our case. We have the right to do that, and until we do, we will keep losing ground. We have to speak loud enough that we are heard. Keep writing letters to you representatives, and keep up on the current issues, and the legislation going through. The liberals are afraid when we stick together because they know that when we do, we have the power to keep our rights in tact. When we don't though, we will start seeing more and more rights taken away. These laws only hurt the law abiding citizen. There is already legislation in effect that restricts felons from having firearms, and people convicted of domestic abuse from having firearms. There is at least one part of legislation that would have kept anyone of any of these few gun related crimes from happening, if they had only been obeyed. But it is the criminal who is not obeying them, not the citizen.

More legislation does nothing more that put the public at risk because they can't defend theirselves or their fellow people. And for the die hard citizens who are out there, the only difference between having a gun and not, is how they go about helping other people. There are those who have died in their valiant efforts to save others. They were ill prepared to handle the situation, because their representatives allowed the restriction of firearms, and so they saved someone elses life, but their own was extinguished. Even though they could not match the villans with firepower, they beat them with heart. I ask you, WHERE IS THE THOUGHT PROCESS IN TAKING AWAY THE RIGHTS OF LAW ABIDING CITIZENS SO THAT THEY CANNOT DEFEND THEMSELVES? I implore you, do not let this happen. Let your voice be heard. Even if you cannot contribute money to a cause, you can keep people up to date if you know what is going on, and you can inform the people that don't know the truth that what the media says is not true. Please do what you can. We are all affected by this. The right to have and to bear arms will just be the first in a long line to go, if we let it. After that, it will be the right to free speech, then it's down hill from there. Look at the other countries who's freedoms are lacking. It started with the confiscation and illegalization of firearms. Please, find other people in your area, and do what you can to preserve our rights.

Children are our future. With each passing generation, the values and morals that they are being raised with, is shrinking. Years ago kids would take their rifles to school, stand and say the pledge of allegiance daily, and offer a prayer at lunch time. The times (and kids) are changing, and not for the better.

Gun rights? A large portion of the people (who care) pay their yearly dues to the NRA, GOA, or whatever organization that they fell will do the most good. They feel they have done their part, so they sit back and expect things to get better. Why don't things get any better? A lot of these groups start out all gung-ho, only to find that to get "anywhere" with the political process, there is a lot of give and take. They find they have to end up giving, (compromising their original goal) to get ANYTHING AT ALL done. The takers have a very strong hold, and it is not going to be easy to stop them from taking more of our rights. It will be quite an accomplishment just to slow down the present erosion of our rights. Getting any of our rights back that we have already lost is (for the most part) a pipe dream. Except for a small core group of individuals, no one takes the time to write, call, or email their representatives. They are more or less complacent in the life they are living. They have a job, a roof over their head, food on the table, clothes to wear, a car to drive, and of course, their big screen TV. . Unless the loss of any rights effects them directly, you can expect no help from them. When they finally do realize what has happened, it will be to late.

    What can we do?
    1. Of course, inform everyone you know of what is going on. Keep them abreast of the news. They will listen to you, but do not expect them to do anything. Some might, most will not.
    2. Start another gun rights group? That takes money and LOTS OF IT. It takes a truck load of money just to set up the organization, so that you can ASK for enough to try to make a dent. It is not as easy as it sounds.
    3. A million gun march? That could turn out catastrophic. Some nut would actually bring ammo and start shooting. Not a good news report for our side.
    4. Write the letters, send the e-mail, make the phone calls to your representatives. The legal way to change things is, to use the established system that is already in place.
A civil uprising would be the last resort, and would be costly on both sides. I hope it never comes to that.

I wish I know the answer.

    Amen!!

    Death to Tyrants!!!

Those who would offer any interpretation that would relegate Amendment II to "relic" status of a bygone era are blatantly stating that the remainder of the Bill of Rights isn't worth a damn, either.
