Need A "Leave Your Guns At Work Month"?

tr foxtr fox Member Posts: 13,856
The letter below is my attempt to use the hypocrisy of the anti-gun, anti-self defense establishment against them. I have long said we pro-gun, pro-self defense people could pickup the rampant hypocrisy of those people and use it to beat them silly. This is but another attempt on my part to follow my own advice. I plan on sending this letter to Kansas Gov. Sebelius who has stated she will veto any concealed carry law for citizens, but will approve a law for any retired Law enforcement officers. I will also send this same letter to any anti-concealed carry politicians I can think of.

One letter from one person does not usually have a lot of impact. If anyone, especially anyone from KS wants to help, then print, sign and mail a copy of this letter "Take Back America", 2111 E. Santa Fe, Suite 147, Olathe KS 66062-1606. I will include you letter with mine and hopefully get some attention.

If you can find some way to use this letter for your own purposes, be my guest. And thanks for any help.

LEAVE YOUR GUN AT WORK MONTH

To help you get more guns off the street and out of homes with children, I am asking for your help in creating a LEAVE YOUR GUN AT WORK MONTH. Here is how LYGWM would work.

Government would designate yet another month dedicated to a politically correct statement. During the month chosen, all the police (city, county, state and federal), who publicly preach that lawful citizens don't need to carry concealed guns for protection, would leave their own off-duty guns at work. All politicians who preach that lawful American citizens shouldn't have the same right that criminals have given themselves, the right to carry concealed weapons, would leave their own firearms at the office. This would especially apply to those politician's bodyguards.

Many public figures and anti-self defense groups preach that a gun in the home, and especially around children, is more likely to hurt a family member than protect the family. So by having a LYGW month, we would actually be exposing children to fewer guns. Because now those guns are left at work for a month. This plan would also help meet their goal of "getting more guns off the street".

Now if that off-duty officer or politician has need of protection from violent crime, he/she could do as we common citizens are expected to do; phone 9-1-1. If phoning 9-1-1 is good enough for a young, unescorted women going to her car some night after work, and having to try and fight off a rapist by phoning 9-1-1, then this should be more than good enough for that off-duty officer or politician. Another benefit to you and others participating in LYGWM is that you would clearly be demonstrating that you are not being hypocritical in your expressed belief that the only protection anyone needs from violent attack is the ability to phone 9-1-1.

Please do not confuse my intent. This LYGWM would only apply to the law enforcement people and politicians who preach that the common citizens should not be allowed to carry firearms for protection. I am in favor of the other good and reasonable police and politicians and their bodyguards carrying firearms for protection. I am just against any hypocrisy that might be found in those who oppose this right for lawful citizens.

Fox: Though I totally agree with your concept, do you think that goverment will fully understand what you have said? Its been my experience with them that anything that could make sense is beyond thier grasp!

    Broomie

Oh..the politicians actually DO understand, and they do have common sense..but the ONLY thing that is important to them is their own power, and doing whatever it takes to stay in power..so if the wind is blowing towards say....gun control..hell, they're all for it. But if the wind shifts, then they're all for that too. I really am beginning to think that all politicians are like diapers..they're all full of crap and need changing often.

A friend will post your bail. A good friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying, "man that was fun!"

Broomie: You could be right of course that the politicians will not understand what I am trying to say. But some of them will and hopefully those will be angered, embarrassed and might even finally become more sensitive to our side of the argument. But even if nothing else, if this letter can get some exposure and get out to the general public, it just might convert that huge group of citizens, the fence sitting undecided group, to also be more supportative our pro-gun, pro-self defense argument. And getting the huge undecided group on our side could actually win this war for us. Worth a try.

I think my point was more directed towards the Feinstein's of the our goverment. No amount of sound logic will ever be listened to. I will agree that most politicians do tend to ride the crest of the wave which is most popluar at any given time.

I agree with you Broomie2, but I think there is a great opportunity to take people like Feinstein and slap them in the face and make them look stupid merely by using their own hypocriscy against them. For example, at some town meeting, etc. publically asking Feinstein (or any anti-gun politician) to support the Leave Your Gun At Work Month. And there are many, many other ways to expose them.
