You think it can't happen here

A gun amnesty and buyback was extended in NSW by three months to ensure all licensed shooters whose firearms were banned are compensated.

Police Minister John Watkins said the National Handgun Buyback would be extended in NSW until June 30, along with an amnesty so people can surrender their firearms and avoid hefty penalties.

Under the amnesty which began on October 1, 5,520 weapons have been surrendered including 3,960 rifles, 1,042 shotguns and 477 handguns.
( sounds like they are not turning them in.)

The guns were disabled and destroyed in bulk incinerations.

"Police will keep collecting, disabling and destroying weapons at secret locations to ensure they never end up in the hands of criminals," Mr Watkins said in a statement.

Possession of an illegal weapon carries a maximum 14 year jail penalty.

Specialist buyback vans will continue to travel the state for another three months until the buyback extension ends.

"The three month extension will ensure all licensed shooters are visited and compensated for guns banned by the Council of Australian Governments agreement," Mr Watkins said.

Not only CAN it happen here..I fully expect it to happen in our lifetime.
I believe that the majority of people living in this country are too stupid to understand why it should NOT happen....

I agree with Highball. It is coming.
If not in our lifetime, then no more than a generation or two.

Highball, you ARE correct. Re: Bring it on COMMIE'S!
Without freedom, life is only existence. No guns=absolutely no freedom!

I agree. I would take a bullet for my daughter or her child and from what I have read here I think most of you would do the same for yours.

its not going to happen , they will take away the ability to produce new ones and the ability for anyone to pass them on to the next generation but they will let the current owners be grandfathered. its a divide and conquer thing that has been going on for a while. first they separate the bad black guns for the other semis then they seperate the junk guns that are too cheap, then theysperate calibers that are too big...you get my drift, they wont take them away, they will just make it so difficult to buy and own a gun that fewer and fewer people will jump through the hoops necessary to do it. the second amendment will be there for the elite who have pull and for those willing to pay and dance, all in the name of reasonable restriction. that has been the way that we got to where we are today.

Australia is the proof of the slippery slope.

One region has already implemented banning of swords now as well. Just now the martial arts community is discovering not joining the gun owners to fight for their rights is costing ALL of them their rights.

Stop fighting them at the polls..allow the Socialists free rein to make laws.

Within 5 years, they would have their gun ban...30 days later.the final Americans would be killed off....or we would once again live in a FREE COUNTRY...victorious.

    God,Guts,& GunsHave we lost all 3 ??

tr fox: instead of taking a bullet for your kid why not make the other guy take one for his cause.

Like George Patten said it is better to make the other guy die for his country that to die for yours.

Shootstright, I think all fox was saying is that he wouldn't be covering his children's "six", rather, he would be out "on point".

quote:once again live in a FREE COUNTRY

Highball, we both know that the sheeple are convinced we live in a free country RIGHT NOW.
The founders would have said "ENOUGH!" back in '34 and would have "deposed" the then king, FDR. Possibly sooner, say the early 60's, 1860's that is.

I am proud to read the posters above ? Nice to be in the company of men,Americans all...

We face impossible odds, the entire power structure is against us.as said,90 percent of the country is brain-washed..yet the struggle goes on in a few mens minds...how to regain freedom.

Those who truly love freedom..will ALWAYS be a minority.
