Agency questions about firearms.......

longhunterlonghunter Member Posts: 3,242
In case you are not aware ......It is mandated that anytime DHS or BDS or other agencies come to your home for your kids that they ask if you have firearnms in the home.It is illegal somehow for you to lie about this. They then follow up with the question If they are locked, ammo properly stored etc. These answers are written down and become permanent record........

You do not have to lie about it, just refuse to answer.

If those creeps ever showed up at my door, they would know d$%^ well.
I can't take this crap any more.
I sold a friend an old .06 last night. We shot a few rounds out at his place in the country. He shot at his burn barrel about 30 yrds. away, with nothing in the backdrop for over a mile. 10 minutes later, 2 sheriff dep's show up, and had the gull to threaten me with reckless
endangerment.I knew He didn't have a leg to stand on, so I told him where he could shove his threat, and we went round and round for 30 minutes."so If I shoot at coyotes out here, I have to make sure they have a dirt berm behind them".I was so d@#$ mad , he must of thought I was nuts. Why can't city people be legal to hunt.O.k so I'm still a little pissed off,but how much of this crap do we have to take?????

Tell that deputy that you have a shovel and a wheelbarrow. SO that next time he is off duty to feel free to come over and build you a burm. That way you won't be able to shoot a hole in t he middle of No-where. But then again that bullet it capable of travaling over 2.5 miles.

I know that they anger you,and us all........However to play into them just makes gunowners look bad.If you wanna really tick them off, don't get excited...Just let them rant and then calmly state your case.Pointing out that it is legal for you to shoot a coyote there was a good point....You do not have to cow tow to them,Just don't let them rile you....It makes them loose their own control and bravado much quicker. Just my opinion friends...calmly point out where they are wrong and offer proof......Then watch em squirm...L.H.

Longhunter, Your right.I lost my cool, and it does make us
look bad. However I did tell them that if they had come out there
and just told me about the complaint, and even suggested a berm,I would have not gotten ticked off. But when someone threatens me as a form of intimidation,I hate that crap and I lose it.

I understand completly......I do.....But they win if we let them. I do not condemn you ,only suggest.I am as sick and tired of em as you r believe me. Suggestion, get a video camara and keep it handy,Let them make the *ss of themselves and than show it to all those that will watch....Write clear and consise letters to the editor..state the facts only, do not embelish.Lets Put THEM on the defensive!,Let us show the public how wrong THEY are.
They will attempt to get retribution in some way,so keep yer nose clean friend.......

This crap about law enforcement showing up with a complaint of some one legaly shooting a gun out in the country is absolutely rediculous. If you're in the country there really shouldn't be any complaints as long as you are not endangering a human life. For all the gentlemans that live in the country and complain about people shooting guns need to get their dumb a**es back in the city where they belong. Then they can listen to all the shots being fired from the drug dealers, hoods, or what ever you want to call them. Seems to me that a lot of law enforcement officers in my area like to think they have so called "big heads" and it makes them feel good when they try to tell some one they are in the wrong when in reality the officer is wrong!

Agreed.......Still the unfortunate circumstance anywhere in this state is that you must be a minimum of 300 feet from ANY dwelling to discharge a firearm, without THEIR permission.
Makes you wanna be sure you've NO close neighbors.....Laws like this came to be after slob hunters shot a mom hanging laundry in her backyard.....Kneejerk Polotics....
