San francisco gun ban.

[V][V][V][V][V]

San Francisco is attempting to place a ballot measure before its voters this November banning handguns. The measure would strip any citizen of his or her right to own a handgun for any reason. Only law enforcement officers, members of the military, and security guards would be allowed to possess them. The measure would also completely ban the sale, manufacture, and distribution of all handguns and ammunition in San Francisco, as well as the transfer of shotguns and rifles. If passed in November, city residents would be forced to surrender their firearms within 90 days.

Over the past few decades, California has served as a laboratory for gun control experiments. And very often, sadly, what happens out west tends to drift eastward to other pockets of the United Sates. So not only would passage of the handgun ban have dire consequences for San Franciscans, but it would also no doubt serve as a harbinger for similar bans for other Americans outside of San Francisco who live under the fist of anti-gun city officials.

We will keep you posted on relevant developments on this issue in these pages and elsewhere. In the meantime, however, NRA members and supporters in San Francisco need to ensure their voter registration is current, and actively work to register other opponents to the handgun ban as well. For information on voter registration, please visit www.NRAILA.org and visit the "Register to Vote" section. Finally, for those of you who reside outside of San Francisco, but who know pro-gun supporters living within the city, you need to ensure they are aware of this onerous proposal and are currently registered to vote.

Since it is on a ballot that will go before the voters. The will of the people will prevail.

It is time to WAKE UP the people that live there. (though I personally do not put much faith in the voting public)

Starting a boulder, that is naturally inclinded to roll, rolling down-hill is much, much easier than securing that boulder or stopping it after it starts to roll.

Restictions on gun rights, for numuerous and varied reasons, is that boulder naturally inclined to roll.

If you consider the huge number of gun owners in Amercia against the few active owners who actually spend money, time and effort in trying to prevent or stop that boulder from rolling, it is no surprise why we have so many gun laws and have lost so many gun rights.

The modest effort by the huge number of gun owners also reveal us as being lazy about our rights.

I say (screw) them idiots. Let them become fodder for criminals. I wish the whole damned state would pass this ban, so we could get a large killing ground going to wake these dumb (screwers) up to the their BS.

The end justifies the means. And let every single gun owner preceed to an Exodus from the state, that way their guns stay in their hands, just in a different locale.

What can I say, I'm not in the business of saving people from themselves. It is as useless and dangerous to try to free a person who insists on be servile as it is to try to enslave a person who insists on being free.

Those who would offer any interpretation that would relegate Amendment II to "relic" status of a bygone era are blatantly stating that the remainder of the Bill of Rights isn't worth a damn, either.

    Precisely put, Gunphreak....

Many gun owners, many on this board, even, are pro-gun control. It is indeed dangerous to point out what the Constitution means even to these type folks.

I don't know about San Francisco, but such a law would never pass in San Diego or even LA.

My 80 year old Mother lives in SF and her gun colection rivals most. Are you telling me she should rot? You are not a very kind sir. I and my gun loving buddies are doing what we can to turn opinion towards the right end. The city tried this once before and it was overturned in state court. It will be defeated again. As for your statement I will consider the source and hope the people on the bubble of gun ownership dont run into you. You are very small indeed.

People that own guns may indeed live under the tyranny of Californacation.

The Second Amendment means little to those people,however..or they would flee the state posthaste.

Given that...I agree totally with Gunphreak.
Screw those people and their inability to see reality.

Sounds harsh ? You bet. Sometimes one has to understand that Socialism and Corruption are too deeply engrained in a people to root out...and California fills that bill nicely...

Gun people leaving the state to the criminals and Anti-American pukes would be a VERY good thing to happen...

To add to Highball and gunphreak---just another reason not to live in San Fran.

If you are living in a bad marriage and getting you * kicked on a monthly basis, whose fault is it if you stay in the marriage? That is how I feel about gun owners in Cali. Either unite or get the hell out and let the fools live in their own feces.

It is rare I have read such a short statement that intensely radiates truth.

Nope. She should move. Just like I said.

quote:You are not a very kind sir. I and my gun loving buddies are doing what we can to turn opinion towards the right end.

I've been called worse. Apparently, you have some other working game plan? I would love to see it. Simply put, crime control is not a reason, it is an excuse. And gun kontrol is not a debate, it's a state of mind. You are not going to turn anti's against everything they ever believed through debate. It will only happen at gunpoint, or at funerals, for them. Yes, they are just that stupid.

quote: The city tried this once before and it was overturned in state court. It will be defeated again.

I guess, for your sake, and the sake of your mother's, you better hope so.

Funny thing about that, most of the other people who ever read my posts, where some may disagree, see some strong form of logic to it. Perhaps the disagreement comes from the fact that they know, as do I, that my logic does not fit into the current political field, so to even discuss it seems pointless. Too bad, too, because if my logic was applied in full, crime would be rare, and punishment for true crimes would be harsh.

And this has me cracking up, right here....

quote:" From my cold dead hands"

Keep telling yourself that. Apparently, it is your only comfort, now.

I agree with gunphreak and highball (no surprise there). And, on a personal note, I actually just moved out of New York City. Why? Well, I got tired of having to pay almost 5% in CITY TAX (in addition to the 8% the state already gets) to those same thieves and political fatladys that repeatedly attack my rights. 5% to a town that made me jump through hoops for A YEAR just to get my residence "permit". Well, I'm done with it. And next year, I'm seriously considering getting out of this region altogether. Let them have it. At least they won't be destroying it with funds looted from the product of my labor.

Get yourself into communities.. or better yet, states, with similar beliefs as you, and your rights are strengthened. Stay in the liberal cesspools, like SF, and it won't be long before you are devoured by it.

    Tough choice...

I am a fourth generation San Franciscan. I will not leave here due to bad politics I will stay and fight. If there ever was a beautiful place to be and see my home town is it. My current home is worth more than I could ever believe making in the time I have spent on this planet. My mother and 5 sibling live here as do all of my inlaws. My son enjoys the life we have provided and loves his home. Why would I even consider leaving this place? There may be some very wrong things here but look at where you live and say they are perfect. Putting all of California in one clump and saying forget them is what makes me sad. Are we all not Americans? Say you hate CA thats OK by me. Say you hate the politics here. OK. But to wish ill upon the people of this stae is just myopic. This will be my last post here. I will say nothing bad of you I will just pray that you read what you have said and see how it looks. I once thought there to be a botherhood among gun owners. I was wrong.[V]

I wonder if Jews would have stayed in their homes during the '30's and '40's if they knew Germans would be rounding them up and throwing them into concentration camps for orderly disposal, just because the home land was "Beautiful" and "worth fighting for"?
