How man guns stolen by N.O. Savages?

DefenderDefender Member Posts: 1,772 ✭✭✭✭✭
I'm wondering just how many guns have been stolen in the huricane ravaged South by the savages?

I also wonder how many grudge murders and rape/robbery murders were committed while the police were non-existant.

I would have to imagin that every firearm in sight or in reach was stolen or will be stolen. They've completely cleaned out the wal mart stores of everything, including guns and ammo. I'm also pretty sure the same applies for firearms stolen from homes. I'm also quite sure that the other stuff you mentioned is still occuring, there are rumors down here that gangs have taken over historical hotels and such and are waging their own little wars with eachother. They don't really seem to be interested in the evac, so they'll systematically wipe themselves out.

    We can only hope.

What is going to happen to these guns when order is restored?

Everybody has been making a big deal about "all those guns" stolen from Wal-Mart, as if it is Wal-Mart's fault or something. My brother told me that the CEO of Wal-Mart was on Larry King tonight. He said they have pledged over $15 million in aid already, not to mention they have sustained damage to like 140 of their stores in the hurricane area, and all but a couple dozen of them are currently open for business and selling supplies to citizens. Of course, Larry King's first question to him was about "all those guns" stolen by the looters.

I don't know about you all, but my Wal-Mart MAYBE carries about 15 guns at any given time. There are usually about 3 or 4 various 12 ga. shotguns, 3 or 4 various models of .22 rifles, a couple single shot rifles, and a small amount of large caliber hunting rifles. I'd say under 20 guns total if the place was fully stocked.

The media is making it sound like each Wal-Mart is storing a huge arsenal of weapons. Unless these looters are running around with Airsoft pistols and Daisy Red Rider BB guns, I don't think Wal-Mart is providing all that many guns to these folks. Think about it, there is at most maybe 10 Wal-Mart's in the flooded NO area? If all of them were fully stocked with guns then maybe there are 200 of them floating around out there. 25% of those would have to be some sort of .22 rifle at that and probably another 25% would be shotguns.

    Does this math add up?

I'm all for the idea of evacuating the city, and systematically killing every last looter found.

    WW,
I haven't seen where people are blaming WalMart about the guns, but then I don't watch much news either. It does not surprise me that some would blame them.

I think your numbers are pretty close to the mark. That is about how many guns are in those stores around here, maybe even less.

    True enough. [;)]

How did you hear Larry King was anti-gun? He's not on any of the lists. I'm not doubting you or anything. Is it just his style of reporting?

His radio show at night during the Clintons gun ban and Waco when the attorney general was roasting the children . The guy was off the wall . He wanted to ban all of the ammo .
It was the first time I heard him go off the deep end .
He is no better today, just ask him how he feels about the public ownning guns. [8D]
