Need info on gun s in US

Can anyone point me to some hard data with verified stats on gun s in the US? With a breakdown of number of gun related accidents, suicides. etc. (Does yearly gun s info also include gun s related to Police/citizens shooting armed criminals in self defense?) Also on any verifiable info on the number of crimes prevented by citizens being so-armed.

Just need some "ammo" in defending gun owership. Again, please only refer to objectively researched, verified stats and info. Thanks!

Sorry, my kidsafe software program deleted the word "death"
from my above post about yearly "gun deaths" when I wrote it.

The CDC used to post these stats on their website. It has been a couple years since I looked it up, but they had a little search engine where you could search causes of death for different years.

Typically "accidental" gun deaths per year are well under 2000 people total. This compared to something like 50,000+ for car accidents. For minors, the number of deaths due to falls or drowning far exceed gun deaths each year.

A note of caution on the CDC stats- under Children they listed up thru age 25- and included shootings in self defense, shooting by LEOs returning fire, etc. I guess I should be in there- Purple Heart when I was 19!

Jus want the hard numbers on hand to show that more people benefit from gun ownership than without. I know that the number of crimes prevented from gun owership far outweights those committed with a gun. Yet you never seem to hear about that mentioned in the news.

You will be surprised by the facts.

Guns are used in very, very few occassions in crime. You are more likely to get stabbed, choked, etc..

Assault Weapons aren't used in Crimes.

50 Caliber firearms....never used in a crime.

The problem is the Democrats have their Non-Profits getting Govt. grants to blast lies on tv/radio preaching crap like 'A child dies every 11 minutes from a handgun' which is 100% Bullchet.

The actual Govt. numbers don't match the Democrats lies.

Then you look at the places with the most gun control/bans. They have the most crimes committed with firearms. The gun bans did nothing for them.
