Got my 458 page ATF state firearms laws book today. For grins I counted the number of pages of laws each state has and ranked them. The more pages the more complex and probably draconian the laws.

There are some exceptions. D.C. ranks relatively low. But then, how many pages does it take to say No Guns Allowed? So this is more of a ranking by complexity than anything else.

Why am I not surprised that California has over two and a hlaf times more pages than the next runner up?

Not surprising one bit. I show my kids that book and explain "shall not be infringed" and similiar lines in state constitutions and ask what does this mean?
