friend had guns belonging to me

So my friend got busted for domestic assault the other day (bogus charge but we won't get into that) and in the process the cops took all of his guns including two that are registered in my name. He had them because he had intended to pay me for them, but hadn't as of the day they were confiscated...I know he can't pay me know, so is there any way I could legally claim them and get them back?

Aren't they registered in your name? Go to the police station and file a report with them about how they got your guns.

Likely will be in vain but you can atleast try.

If you have all of the serial numbers, I would consider reporting them stolen.

If that seems too roguish to you, follow Red223's advice, and never lend your guns to anyone, ever again.

I've thought about that, but I dont want to get a friend into more trouble...going to contact the sheriff's office tomorrow and see what they say, the operator today told me that it would more than likely involve a court hearing...we'll see what happens.

most big citys sell confiscated guns. If thay are NOT used in comissoion of a crime . This brings in a lot of money for police departments.So thay want to keep all thay get thare hands on. Good luck in recovering yours.
