Disclaimer, DO NOT take this as legal advice. Contact your local law enforcement, and the BATF, as laws change. There may be local laws that you must follow as well.

    The basics,
First you must complete an FBI background check. Then fill out an application that must be submitted to the BATF. The application form also requires the signature of a chief law enforcement officer with jurisdiction in your area.

Find the nearest class 111 dealer in your area.

They have a vested interest in knowing the local officials, the paperwork involved, and the steps to complete the transaction.

They will be really nice to you, as befitting the huge profits they make selling you a 1000 dollar gun for 10,000 bucks.

Highball, I don't believe the Class III dealer themselves make huge amounts of money off of the inflated prices. If they charge you $3500 for a MAC-10, they probably had to pay around $3300 for it, just for the transferable status.

As I understand it, these things gain value virtually every time the things change hands.

When you consider that a Mac-10 is about a 400.00 gun that sells for 10 times what it is worth because it's supply has been artificially limited, that s major BS, and the ones responsible for this ought to be taken to the nearest tree and hanged from it.

    I'll second that.

Let us be perfectly clear here.

Hanged NOT because of the cost raise...but because of the REASON for the ridiculous jump in prices...intervention and restriction of a basic RIGHT.
Neal Boortz talks about a t-shirt seen at one of his Fair Tax rallys.

A picture of a rope, politicians, and a lamp post...with the words "Some assembly required"....

You ought to know as well as I do, Highball, I think there should be no gun laws and anyone who is or was the authors of them should be summarily executed as traitors!!!
