I just read this. A national politician who supports the right to carry concealed weapon. Am I missing something here? Highball, what do you think?

    That has been his view for some time now. I read an article about a year ago that he wrote. He says he is PRO GUN ALL THE WAY....Lets see what he says when the election is 2 months away.

    First, we must be careful of terms.
    " Right to Carry " is what ther Elites took AWAY from us...with the eager help of the NRA and most gun owners.

    We now have " Permission from slimy empty suits to Carry"..at the time and place of THEIR choosing.
    Now... Fred.
    He supported McCain for president, 2000..this indicates a mental disorder, at best....
    He supported Campaign Finance Reform...that eliminated grasroots activism colse to election...while allowing full courtpress of the 'News Media'...AKA Socialist America Newspeak...

    The Elites ALWAYS have a dark horse in the race. Fred MAY be it....

    I have to agree that, regardless of his tone here, his actions may be different once elected. Actually, he probably is "Pro" but the culture in DC, the unelected bureaucrats (or should I say rats?) is anti gun, anti free speech, anti anything that makes a citizenry strong, standing up for their rights. The First and Second amendments empower people to stand against an authoritarian central government. Slowly these amendments are being watered down and soon may be gone...

    Ok, Highball, regardless of your perfectly correct analysis of our rights, Fred Thompson is the one least likely to infringe on your rights, and is also the one most likely to restore your rights, at least from the standpoint that, whether your rights are acknowledged or not, by the gov't.

    I'm not willing at this point to concede defeat on that level. Even if Hitlery was elected, Si vis pacem, para bellum, let her send people to confiscate our guns, and watch how many of them come back in body bags.

    Gunphreak;
    Not trying to rain on your parade.
    Have lived a long time...and watched many politicians come to power. Been disappointed...

    I merely enumerated a couple of instances that rather bother ME...and supporting McCain, as I mentioned, indicates a serious mental problem.

    Highball-

    You're not raining on my parade. You and I are caught between a rock and a hard place. This is not easy for us to deal with.

    I feel similar to how you do, but I think too many things have happened for the ones of us who would fight to roll over and play dead, now, and I would rather die free than live in slavery, so let it come to pass.
