Better check that one out very carefully!
If I am not mistaken Massachusetts has its own "Assault Weapons Ban", and also hi cap magazines.
They have multiple layers of licensing also.
I would suggest your friend contact his area DA or an experienced FFL there, before going forward.
I certainly cannot, nor would I try, to tell you.

I agree with Marc. I think Mass. is a lot like Ca. in that regard. If not worse. I would be VERY careful about I sent to Mass.

    Thanks for the info,

Did some digging and yes Mass is a mess, the Republic has some very strange views. I contacted Bushmaster and they actually have a Mass compliant version. I am sending the 15 back to them to have it modified and then to his FFL. what a pain.

They will be replacing the barrel and removing flash suppressor, remove the folding stock and pistol grip.. modified to only accept 5 round clips. kinda defeats the purpose of owning a 15 eh...

    hitech-
I would almost assure you that your 'digging' came up with some very spurious information.
    Did it tell you?
    1) That if your friend has a Class A LTC, then all else is moot?
    2) That the 'assault weapons' ban is for dealers only? Person to Person does not apply?
    3) That hi-caps are perfectly okay as long as they are mfr prior to 1998 (and tell me how you would know this-because none of my dozens of hi-caps have a date stamped on them)
