What is the NRAs position on McCain?

salzosalzo Member Posts: 6,396 ✭✭
I visited the NRAs website, wanted to see how they are rating the candidates. Unfortunately, the political rating section of their website is for members only.
I am curious to know if the NRA has come out yet with flowery support for gun grabber McCain? They had a wonderful gun grabbing article about Obama on the front page- didnt bother reading it- it doesnt mean poop unless I know where the NRA is with the "other" candidate, which unfortunately the NRA does not want me to know their feelings on McPain, because I am not a member.
So have they said anything critical of McCain? Or is it going to be business as usual for the NRA, throwing blind support for the R party,notwithstanding candidates anti gun/second amendment agenda, as they have done so many times in recent past elections?

    I don't think they want anyone knowing, this time around...

    I'm a member and they are quite silent on the issue...

    That's because they KNOW McCain is "soft" on RKBA, but the National Republican Appendage obeys Regan's Commandment... unless the (R) in question has the audacity to hold their feet to the fire on their "Compromises".

    I am not crazy about McCain either. Clinton and Obama are not an option. Not voting is not an option. As for much of my life, I am going to be forced to vote for the lesser of the two evils.

    Just like a typical parent. Going to reward a spoiled rotten brat by handing them what they want.

    Don't DEMAND a change of behaviour..just let them ram the snit down our throats.

    Do't DISIPLINE the child...oh GOD no..might damage the little dear.

    So damage the rest of us by YOUR irresponsible behaviour. Makes perfect sense...in an insane world..

    Highball- That has to be the best analogy I have seen for the "vote for the lessor of two evils" method of pulling the lever.

    Thanks, Salzo;

    There are a handful of men out there whose opinion I respect...highly.

    Yours is one.

    We are indeed blessed..for frequenting these boards are more then a few head and shoulder above the crowd men..men not afraid to speak their minds.
    I feel they are cast in the mould of those men of old..the Founders.

    Oh, you can BET I will vote. Just that I will HAVE to write in my choice.
    It's either that or vote for a Democrat. See, at least voting for one of them, I know full well what I am voting for. I CHOOSE to NOT vote for the lesser evil, EVER again. It has done us a fat lotta good so far hasn't it?

    My choices are down to Ron Paul. A REAL patriot to the Constitution. Although not likely to win, still the right choice.

    OR, I can forsake the shambles and reminates of this country. I can vote Democrate. Allway this country to sink to the lowest low we could dream of. Allow the socialist pukes to demolish what took GREAT men to build. Allow those socialists to force PEOPLE TO EVALUATE WHAT it is to be freemen/women. FORCE the citizenry to either FIGHT for what is right, or enslave themselves and their decendants. Sometimes it takes a catostrophic event (like what they WILL do to us) to wake up 10, 20, 30 percent of the people.

    Why keep farting around about it? Either stand up and be counted, or ADMIT they like the chains of slavery.

    Such a dilemma. What to do, what to do .....

    I am still not sure what I am going to do. Write in Paul, Hillary or Obama, or stay home. The one thing I am certain of IS I will not vote for John McCain.

    Write in is a wasted vote. May as well stay home. Have to agree that Paul would be the best choice but no way he could have been elected. And some of you guys thought we could never agree on anything.

    I intend voting for Hillary.

    Cram her down you Republican w hores throat. You don't have the courage to DEMAND a 'Conservative'..like that word means anything anymore...and you all spit on the only American running...

    So get Hillary.

    Good and bad points to that position.

    It took suffering through a Carter for us to get a Reagan.

    OTOH, I figure the next POTUS will get one or two SCOTUS Judge nominations. Even overlooking RKBA - which they should really have no say in anyway - I find the idea of a Hil-Bama stacked Court to be utterly frightening. [:0]

    Not that Mr Manchurian will do any better... [xx(]

    Gonna come to a fight SOMEDAY, OI..next year is as good as any...

    BTY;
    The ILA website says that they will endorse 'next fall'...but the website is eat up about those dastardly Democrats and their gun-grabbing ways...
    Pretty obvious whom they will endorse, would be my guess.

    In reality I don't think any candidate is willing to really challenge the status quo, and besides whoever is elected next will have their hands full dealing with our wonderful economy. That will be a battle in itself without the need to further rile up either side with issues like gun control. In my various readings I have come to believe that there is little difference between republicans and democrats, the deeper issues is what happens when we start to get career politicians who care more about re-elections than they do the issues. They devote more staff and monies to this ridiculous posturing than actually doing what is right, and responsible. So naturally things like term limits etc will never be passed which would be the only real cure to our long term woes. Our government spending is currently un-sustainable and will result in devastation if we dont act now and vote out incumbents regardless of party affiliation. There are a few good souls left in congress but not many, and the old joke "politicians are like diapers, they should be changed often and for the same reason" applies now more than ever..

    Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face!
    First off; Americans have NO CHOICE when it comes to picking a candidate due largely to the political machinations of either party.
    Don't know or care how many elections HB has participated in, but I have NEVER seen a multiple choice questionnaire that reveals how every candidate would vote on any issue prior to their running for office.
    Ridiculously stupid tantrums (during elections) are for folks too young to remember what happened when Klinton got elected for his second term, or too stupid to foresee that electing any klinton again would endanger not only the Country, but any "rights" we may still have.
    Pinheads and fools are the ones demanding "change", yet when an intelligent voice requests a definition of "change"; militant, activist drivel is all one gets in return.

    What a load of fresh, steaming horsepoop! If Obama wants to continue an Illinois-style "firearms freedom" ; where an ID card becomes your only option if you wish to own or use guns, where restrictions are placed upon your right to bear, buy, or sell guns; why would a reasonable man vote against his opponent?! If you want to know how the NRA rates any candidate; you should have to pay for the information juat like you pay for that crap-filled evening paper (that also wants your guns taken away).

    "Mold" is spelled this way in America, THAT way in Europe. And aren't WE just feeling a bit grandiose and delusional in our little world (where we have no enemies and everything is sunshine and roses...).

    Pickenup;
    I apologize for the ugly crack. Sorry I put you in the position..and I am deleting it to save you the trouble.
    There will be no apology extended to those that insist that giving government control of the last means of resistance in this world is a reasonable, Constitutional power.they love the Beast far more then I.

    However, the contempt I feel for them is best expressed face to face, where they can take offense personally, instead of examining their core values, if they wish.

    Gee gunnut, WHAT canidate do YOU propose to vote for, that ahears to the constitution? There are NO canidate that do on the ballot. Ron Paul WAS the ONLY canidate that vote FOR the constitution EVERY TIME.

    So why not vote for Hitlery? Give all those "comprimisers" exactly what they DESIRE. Why are you so scared of her anyway? McPain is antigun too. Hell, all three are. ALL three have demonstrated their actions on constitutional matters.

    People like you think voting for the better turd will mnake things all better. You still have a turd, and it won't fix anything. WE as a COUNTRY are in REAL trouble. Why not vote for the worse turd to make the rest of the blind realize just EXACTLY what is happening?

    Are you so chicken hearted that you want your grandchildren to deal with our continueing mistakes?

    "Ifthere is to be trouble, let it be in MY day, so my CHILDREN may have PEACE. "

    Those word MEAN anything to YOU? They mean MUCH to me.
