A Real End To The Game?

dsmithdsmith Member Posts: 902 ✭✭✭✭
A thought occurred to me, and I'd be very interested to see what Highball and the others around here would think of it.

Recently having become a gold and silver bug (out of concern of the economy and want of real money), I hit an interesting point. After studying the government's debt, and the worldwide distrust of the dollar, it seemed that the dollar, several years down the road, could well become worthless. It has been on a downhill slope for many years, what with the elimination of gold/silver dollars, inflation, elimination of the copper penny, and now the nickel and penny costing more to produce than they are worth.

We have no manufacturing in this country to speak of. We are sending our money to foreigners, who luckily haven't sent too much of it back yet. We are paying over $500 Billion per year in interest alone. All foreign oil is being paid in dollars. The government is constantly racking up debt in wars that threaten to be never-ending. They have very little silver and gold. All they have is worldwide confidence in the dollar that is rapidly eroding. As far as things to sell: old military technology rapidly decreasing in value.

Inflation is a stealth tax. We see our purchasing power erode as our dollar amount remains the same. Our paychecks never seem to increase, but our bills do. They can't print more money without devaluing it. The states are running out of money for food stamp programs, and will soon be getting assistance from the federal government. By 2017, the promises of Socialist Insecurity and Medikare will account for every dollar the Feds take in, and will cause quite a stir when the benefits are invariably cut.

Like all people who work for a living, the police and the military are being paid in dollars. Once the out of control inflation makes their salaries unlivable ones, and the newly printed money they could be paid in deteriorates even further, we will see fewer and fewer people out to enforce the laws. Then the politicians will have to see themselves for what they are: a bunch of empty suits that no reasonable person would follow.

I would like to hear comments or flaws in this line of thinking that any of you have.

    Dsmith;
    I am no economist.
That being said up front...that which you posted about ..with some inevitable variations we cannot foresee ..will no doubt be the ending of America.

As great ships normally do not slip beneath the waves suddenly ..so too great nations do not normally vanish overnight.

Will it be today...tomorrow ..next week ? Don't know.

But history absolutely bears mute witness to the truth of your post.

When Nations go bad ..the people more interested in hedonistic pursuits instead of what their politicians are doing ..that Nation is ended.

    We are ended.
The dollar will be used as toilet paper at some point in the future...and that future is rushing at us like a freight train.

Your job, friend, is to provide for you and your loved ones ..and watch carefully for the ONE chance I think we will get to take America back.

Provided there are enough Americans ..good, decent men and women willing to fight for freedom...left.

Please remember...all that are born here are not Americans .. you will die quickly if you bank on that.

Our young people don't even know the difference between communism, capitalism, and socialism. They want to elect a black man to say they did, it and they will have a socialist with terrorist leaning hanger-ons getting into the government. All of America's enemies are supporting Obama....does that tell you something?

On June 11th I started Obamaizing my IRA. I sold $80K of stocks, and put the money in GLD, BZF, EU, FEZ, and FSAGX.

I think your post is a little premature and slightly paranoia. Is it possible, YES ! A lot of really bad things will have to happen for the U.S. to totally deteriorate. The unrest will not be exclusive to the U.S. either. It will be felt around the world.

Our polticians are running the U.S. They are our bosses (per say) and they are doing a very bad job. What do you do with a bad boss? Usually he gets fired!

Things need to be done differently in the U.S. We need more manufacturing and less Importing. We need to educate our youth ! We need to clean up the welfare system. If you can pick up a shevel or a rag, you go to work.....no more welfare for you.

We need to run government like a business so it can make money for the bosses, and the employees.....The problem we have is the greedy bosses are running the governemnt to satisfy their personnal bank accounts and we are suffering.

I think your senerio is a possibility, but doom is not eminent yet. Highball is correct.....the time will come to take back the government. It might be in the form of fighting, rallys, sit-ins, a government coup, or anything else not mentioned. We have to be ready for anything to develop and then make a change. That is when things are most fragile and your senerio can happen.

Everything depends on the "People of the U.S." and whether we have the balls to go through with it !
    Abort Cuomo

    DS,
Considering what you are seeing, do you think this will lead to a North American Union?
That is the way I see it. In order for Amerika to survive, they will sell us out further, and create the NAU in rock solid fashion.

Wealthy international bankers (read the Federal Reserve) have manipulated our present economic situation the same way that they have done since the Fed's inception. Things will cycle back around just like always.
