28 gauge reloads @1330 FPS

lsattlsatt Member Posts: 12 ✭✭
Several years ago I was using a reloading recipe using AA hulls that was geting 1330FPS. I have lost the reloading information. Does anyone have any information on a load like this? Thank you for your help.

I just sniped this off the net...you could too. Do a goggle search and see what you can find. (there are lots of loadings close to what you are asking for)

So last night I proceeded to load up 3 boxes of the 28 gauge recipe on p 241 of Lyman 4th Ed. It calls for 1 oz of shot, Federal Hull, Federal 209A primer, 35.0 grains of Hodgdon H-110 powder, B.P. .125 Card and 1/2" Fiber wads, showing a projected velocity of 1319 fps and pressure as 8500 LUP. I used #6 Ballistic Products Nickel Plated lead shot. I've had just excellent luck with #5 NP shot in 12 ga reload on late season roosters, but figured with 1 oz in the 28 ga instead of 1 1/4 oz, I'd drop to #6 and hold my shots to around 30 yards.

Around 2003 New Win. HS hulls come out in 28 & 410, using new loading data. Use the correct data for the case. 28GA.jpg
