I think they are reminton bullets , they are shaped very close to the standard ball type bullets ( FMJ ammo )

Guess I should have asked for max length for standard ball ammo [:o)]

The OAL on the ammo in question is 2.292" and they are too long for the mag in my 4506 , just need to seat the bullet a few thou's deeper

2.292 is SLIGHTLY long by more then one inch [}:)][;)]. If you are loading for 1911 type I would not go longer then 1.260. [^]

Good catch P Shooter , 2.292" is a little long , I wanted to say 1.292" , but thanks for the info [:)]

You want to make sure your not crimping that round, if I'm correct, that round headspaces on the mouth of the case. Crimping will destort your overall lenth. Karl is the expert on the 1911, and will correct me if I'm wrong.

Capn. , just a very slight taper crimp . The RCBS carbide sizing die is even mark that it gives a " taper crimp "

    Do not own a 1911 [:(] and I sold a P 220 [:(] The only 45 ACP I have right now is a S&W 4506 , and I can live with that ( for now )

Thanks for all the info fella's
