12ga Longshot Load :Results

bambambambambambam Member Posts: 4,814 ✭✭✭
I just picked up a bottle of Longshot.

Anyone use this for 1/4oz loads?

Got some wise @sses at the trap range that told me to load 32gr for this powder.(like it was their FAVORITE!)

I picked it up today @ supplier & he told me the men who told me 32gr shoot 28gr instead.[:o)]

He sais he knows he sells it to them.[:D]

Apparently they wanted the new guy to blow a hole in his pattern.

Any favorite load combinations?

I've got AA, STS, Gun Club hulls. Win 209 primers, ClayBuster wad equiv of Win WAA12F114(1/4oz) & the Longshot.

Do you mean 1-1/4 ounce loads? A load of 1/4 oz seems to be mighty light.

I loaded up some 1 1/4oz. ,STS hull, 28.5-29gr Longshot powder, W209,& Claybuster WAA12F114 wads.

I was breaking 4/5 on the 40yrd long shots.

I really like how the longshot powder groups & shoots.[;)]

How is the recoil? Did you shoot it at a pattern board? Any idea of the velocity? Thanks.

In my gun, hardly kicks. Havent shot it on a board yet, just targets. We shoot at night under the lights and the guys say that they can see the pellets in the light for a split second. They thought the pattern looked good.

It's supposed to be 1385fps but I haven't shot it over my graph yet....kinda scared too[:I]

You say it doesn't kick much. Are you shooting an auto? An 1 1/4 oz load at 1385 is movin pretty good....sounds like fun[8D]
