Fiocchi 190 grain

demo-dandemo-dan Member Posts: 109 ✭✭
I recently purchased some 300 winchester Fiocchi 190 grain match kings with an advertised muzzle velocity of 3100. They are listed as MKHPBT 2. Has anyboby had any experience with these loads. I thought they seemed like some pretty hot loads and I think I've become a coniseur of factory ammo. At least for the 300 anyway. Any insight would be appreciated.

Which 300 Win are talking about? Seems high for a 300 W mag. Factory claims for velocity have a tendency to be somewhat higher than actual field checked ammo. Personnaly how they group would be more important than how fast they errode the bbl. I would also check the terminal preformance of the match bullet if were to use the ammo for other than paper punching.

    demo-dan,

I copied this data right off the Fiocchi website and I only see the '2900 FPS' notation of this cartridge designation:

C.F. Rifle 300WMMKE 300 Winchester Magnum Sierra Match King HPBT 190 grs

300WMMKE Velocity in feet per second +/- 10 fps
    Muzzle 100 yd 200 yd 300 yd 400 yd 500 yd
    2900 2726 2558 2396 2240 2090

300WMMKE Energy in foot pounds +/- 5 ftlb
    Muzzle 100 yd 200 yd 300 yd 400 yd 500 yd

If there is some additional advertising, could you please provide a link so that we might take a peak at the data?

    Thanks!

    Best.
