I got a hold of a-square but they are going through some sort of reorganization. When i dialed their number it actally connected me to some guy with springfield arms. he said they may have a few boxes of solids left but that was it . thanks.

    demo-dan,

I'm not sure which direction you will head with this questions but here is some information.

A-Square has been in re-organization for quite some time. It's doubtful that anything even close to the original company will emerge from this process, if anything emerges at all. Nothing is available from their website.

Jamison International was manufacturing the brass for A-Square but they too, are out of business. Graf & Sons has a supply of the Jamison brass including some for A-square but I didn't see any for the Pegasus.

The .300 Pegasus is basically the .30-378 Weatherby which is about 0.080" - 0.090" shorter, without a belt, using a 28 degree shoulder. This same information applies to the .416 Rigby case which has been a parent to a couple of dozen wildcat cartridges, except that it is beltless...

You might be able to find some .338 Excaliber brass and neck it down to take the .30 caliber bullets.

If you are not committed to this cartridge with a rifle, I suggest looking for a substitution which will remain in production longer than some of these others.

I also suggest considering the case capacity versus bullet weight as this applied to barrel length. These high capacity cases often only perform up to expectations with an unwieldy, long barrel. A 26" or 28" barrel just isn't going to get it done.

It's up to you though but I've shot most of these and they got taken apart for other uses. I still have a .30-378 WBY but it's on a bench rifle with a longer barrel.

    Best.

Thanks for the help. I guess I bought the farm on this one. I suppose the best way to look at it is that maybe who ever shoots it will have a little more respect for each shot.

    demo-dan,

Am I to understand that you own this rifle chambered for the .300 Pegasus? If yes, here are a couple of suggestions for getting ammunition.

    Custom Reloads of Dallas
    http://www.dallasreloads.com/

    Copper Creek Cartridge Co.
    http://coppercreekammo.com/

    Conley Precision Cartridge Co.
    http://www.cpcartridge.com/

    Precise Ammunition
    http://www.preciseammunition.com/

Custom Reloads of Dallas states that they work with obsolete ammo needs.
