223 brass too short?

I've got a couple hundred pieces of .223 brass that are about .010" shorter than the trim to length of 1.750". Can they be used or would I be better off scrapping them?

Use them! Don't get caught up in what books say about case lengths. It is not an exact measurement. Basically if the piece of brass when loaded fits in the chamber it is good to go. I wouldn't be concerned with a piece of brass that is .010" under the trim to length. .05" maybe depending on the case.

Many new cases will get shorter on the first firing, the brass swells to fill the chamber in the shoulder area, the easiest place for that brass to come from is by pulling the neck back.

I'd use them but be advised that your chamber can crud up in that space making full length cases iffy until cleaned.

We are talking about .010 of an inch...not much, check out how much it is with a micrometer. Use them and have safe fun!
