Anyone have any experience using 35 grain bullets in a 220 Swift?
Ran into a good deal on some 35 grain bullets and wondering how they'd work in the Swift.

LOL, slow them down and they wouldn't be Swift anymore.
If they are good deal I'd get them, Maybe you will get lucky and they will be solid copper ones, or just download until they stay together.
Ask Hornady but just swaged lead core means they will not take top end loads.

35 gr Hornady V-Max
Iffy...I've had the V-max's come apart in my .257 Wby. with top loads. That was only 3900. A Swift can drive a 35 gr. bullet over 4200.
However, if those particular V-max's are made for 22-250's they should be able to handle top, or at least near top velocities.
In my mind that bullet was made so the .223 competed with the .17 for just flat out shooting flat and not much else.
That didn't work out. Can easily drive them at 4400 fps with no signs of excessive pressure but observe a gray puff about 50' out. No hit in the paper. Appears they are breaking up in flight.
Lets see what we can do with 45 gr Noslers.
