Not many I have 3000 CCI primers that go way back .I think they are for berdan cases Because they are just the primer cup with priming compound no anvil

I never have and don't know anyone who does.

Try to avoid buying ammo berdan primers as I don't even bother picking up the brass (or aluminum, or steel).

Your CCI anvil-less primers are shotgun primer cups. I have lots. Saving them for the "hard times" when complete primers are not available. I made a hand priming set-up to install these in the fired sleeves. I only load berdan ctgs for obsolete ammo where boxer ctg cases cannot be found.

Up until "Old Western Scrounger" went out of business, I loaded many thousands of them over the years. (the brass was always EASY to come by)

As a kid I reloaded shotgun primer for my Dad. I have on occasion loaded berdan ammo for oddball metric stuff.

i prefer berdan over boxer in several calibers, it is easier to build accurate loads with them

I haven't done it in a while. I have a bunch of cases, especially '06, 8x57, & 7.62x54R. I even loaded some steel Russian cases as an experiment--worked fine. Prying the fired primers out of the case is a PITA, other than that and having to remove the decaping pin from the die, everything works the same.

Would someone care to share where they are getting Berdan primers. I have been told they are basically unobtainable.

Grafs carries some and guess what? they are in stock.

I'm set up to do so for a few calibers, using hydraulic decapping. Only issue there is, it doesn't work with crimped or heavily sealed primers. The case bulges out before the primer moves.

However, once decapped, they reload as easy as anything else.

Grafs gets a stock in every few years, that seems to last about 6-9 months, so if you want some, order now while the gettings good.
