Can I load the Russian 7.62x54r Steel cases and maybe get a couple of firings from my 8x56r Steyr? Will the cases fire form?

While 7.62X54R can be fireformed to 8X56R (or just neck expanded and fired as it headspaces on the rim) and works fine, albeit a tad short in the neck, there are 3 things wrong with this.

    1. Berdan primed cases.
    2. Steel cases are hard to extract, and on a straight pull that would be some bad juju.
    3. Steel isn't as ductile and is liable to crack on the first firing.

Grafs has the proper brass. In stock, too.
