Blunderbuss WAG

mowartmowart Member Posts: 1,392 ✭✭✭✭✭
I have a 200+ year old brass barrel, flintlock blunderbuss. The whole weapon is about 32" long. The bore is 4" at the muzzel and tapers down to very little at the other end. The bore is rough like a sand casting. My question is: about how much black powder and how much shot SHOULD have been used in it? (I'm not going to shoot it.)

"(I'm not going to shoot it.)" ...YOU HAD ME WORRIED THERE FOR A MINET. I DON'T THINK IT MADE MUCH DIFFERENCE (A SMALL HANDFULL OF EACH WITH A RAG BETWEEN THEM). [:D]
