It is 20 degrees cooler today than the day I posted the othr chronograph results.

Here are some more. Same Encore 6MMBR

32.3 varget
70 Nosler bal tip
five shot average 3038FPS
26.78 ES
10.67 SD
Group was round but open at about 1"

NEXT
32.3 varget
75 VMAX
five shot average 3056FPS {note its faster than the 70 grain pill!}
45.53 ES
18.68 SD group was identical to the above
This load/bullet combo seems to be near the top for this rifle. Extraction was OK but the slightest hint of primer cratering is becoming evident. I might try .2 more to see how it performs.

Last load tested today
31.3 varget
ten shot average 2928 FPS
39.68 ES
18.68 SD
This load printed into two distinct groups. five shots were above the other five shots. Each group was in the .3's.

I go up the ladder some more on the 70 grain pills to see if there is another sweet spot.

As soon as I can get some VV N-133 we can see how it does.

Any comments are welcome! THIS IS FUN!!!!!!!!!!

For what it's worth, I've found that sometimes when you print two different groups ( one above the other like that) a change to a different primer will sometimes pull them together........[8D]

Run the ladder "round robin style" and see if the next groups still stay consistent. I load in .3gr increments and shoot 1 of each charge "round robin" instead of 5 shots of the same charge. After running the box this way, each target having 5 of the same charge fired at it, more evenly distibutes the human arror across the data set and you should have just about finished with that powder/bullet combo.

check out Dan Newberrys "optimal Charge Weight" method and see what ya think.

the chrono numbers are good on the first load, but I would want to see if the group stayed consistent at 1" or if there was some human error there. I find round robin shooting to take the "perfect group" idea out of the back of my mind and I am less concerned with blowing the group on the last shot, which I feel is a detriment to most folks load work-ups. I feel much better about my ladders this way,..or more confident in the data as scientific with less human error.
