    BL-C2 is a good powder for a 223 60 grain load, 25.9 is considered a max load.....
My all time favorite powder would be AA-2460 with a max of 26.4 grains..
The 4895's will also get you right up there..........

BL-C2 will get the best velocity ( around 3200fps max ) with the 60gr V-Max in 223, but Varget loads well too and is usually accurate but slower ( around 3000 fps max at 24.9 grs from Hornady's manual ). Some 1-12" twist bbls don't shoot the 60gr well (it's near the upper weight limit for that twist. A 1-9" or faster twist usually ( but not always ) works better with 60gr and heavier bullets. Some bbls like them & some don't. ---- For what it's worth ( and no offense intended to mrbruce ) Hornady's # 6 manual lists AA-2460 at maximum with the 60gr V-Max in 223 at 23.0 grs and BL-C2 as maximum at 27.7 grs with the 60 gr V-Max. -- I load alot of AA-2460 with lighter bullets in 223 with excellent results.........good luck........[8D]

Something to consider is XMR2015. I use that for all my .223 loads. 24 grs. behind a 50 Hornady v-max or 24 grs. behind a Sierra HP. I would suggest working up to 24 using Hornady 60 gr's. but that is where you could end up at. These get around 3130-3190 in my Savage 12FV. w/ a 26" barrel.
