Some brass wont take primers

I have some 9mm cases that don't accept new primers. The stamp says "9mm Luger FC NT. I also have some S & B, same thing. What gives? I am using Federal small pistol primers.

Might be that they have a military primer crimp. I think that the NT stands for the Non Toxic lead free ammo out now. There was a thread on here addressing the Non Toxic brass awhile back you might try and find it.

45ACP NT ammo has a smaller primer than standard 45ACP,maybe the 9mm is also smaller. i've never used 9mm NT so i am not really sure.

I have found that S&B primer pockets are a tad tight, but I've always been able to seat the primer. Buy an RCBS pocket swager to bring them up to spec or get new brass.
