Blackhawk front sight inserts?

Hi guys!

Does anyone know of a source for front sights for the Blackhawk and Super Blackhawk that use colored inserts? I don't wish to change the front ramp, I prefer leaving it stock. Is the Brownell's sight insert kit my only option? Thanks

I had a yellow insert put in mine years ago. It seemed like the thing to do at the time. It's hard for me to see now, so I painted the blade flat black & I hit it with sight black before I shoot it. I wish I had left it alone.

    Keno Slim,

Brownells sight kit or something like Testor's model airplane paint that you get in the small bottles from the hobby shop. It's resistant to cleaners, just paint it on and let it dry completely. Be sure to prep the surface so the paint will stick correctly. I use the Brownells kit.

    Best.

Birchwood Casey sells a paint pen set. There is a white primer pen and a bright red orange pen. They work pretty well. I got mine from Brownells. The nice thing about it is the paint will come off if you want to return your sight to stock. I retouch mine a couple times a year depending on how much I carry and shoot the gun.
