223 SR4749 reduced Loads?

Anybody have any experience with SR4759 reduced load in 223 with 55 FMJ for use in AR15?

My Speer manual lists reduced loads for SR4759 for 222 and I don't see why something similar cannot be used in 223

I've never loaded SR4759 in the 223, but the IMR loading guide lists 17.5 grs of SR4759 with the 45gr Sierra sp bullet ( the only load - listed as max.) at 3040 fps with a 24" bbl.. Nothing listed for 55gr FMJ.
I have loaded XMP5744 in the 223 Remington with reduced loads with good results in a bolt action ( around 2000 -2100 fps depending on bullet weight ) but don't know how it would work in the AR15 action. Pretty much duplicates 22 magnum rimfire ballistics.
XMP5744 load data is listed in the Speer #13 Manual.

Thought I'd add that Hodgdon Powder Co. used to have a section on reduced loads on their website ( www.hodgdon.com ). You might check there to see if they have another powder that might serve your purposes.......good luck....[^]
