P-5066

I acquired some reloading tools (Herters dies, lots of bullets for reloading, etc.) from an older gentleman. There was also some powder that I am not familiar with. Can anyone tell be about this powder, when it was available, how good was it, and what replaced it, etc.

    peabo,

The only mention I have in my notes is that it is a bulky powder used for light loads in pistol cartridges such as the .45 ACP.

    Best.

I used 5066 45 years ago when I first started loading 38 Special. As I recall, it was about like Bullseye. I don't have any manuals anymore that show it. I did dig out my origonal Lee loader and it shows 2.5 gr with a 148 to 200 grain bullet. It lists 3 gr of Bulls eye for the same bullets.
